To my own amusement, the unofficial patch has fixed the marksmanpotion affecting all damage..
Anyway, I've been wondering the pros of using a shield with unarmored types, as you have mentioned before, they can mitigate much damage with a shield only. However it hasn't occurred to me what use does unarmored give instead of, say, light armor?
Manaregen is a given ofc, if one is not an enchanter, but is the movement speed so much faster? Or staminaregen?

Another great post James :P
I had never considered using MFD in combination with bashing, but Block is the one skill I have to use on every character I play, it makes perfect sense. I was actually planning on making a no-crafting, Master difficulty character using MFD as a substitute for crafting, and I'll certainly use power bashes a lot now I've seen this.

I don't suppose you used the Secret of Arcana ability? You can get around the once per day limit by opening the black book and reapplying the gift. That's one way of doing it at least. If you used a different method, I'm curious to read about it.

Unfortunately, no. James briefly touched upon this in the writeup: "Enchanting and Alchemy can often have very different properties and this is one of those cases where the two magical effects are very different." The Enchanting effect (including the Blessing of Auriel) *only* boosts the actual Archery skill, whereas the Alchemy effect boosts all physical damage output.
