This is going to be a page for when your starting say a paladin build and you don't know what gear/magic to use you check here.

    Paladin

Unfortunately a lot of good Pladin items require the Dawnguard Plug-in, so i suggest getting it if your going with a Paladin Build.

    Weapons

Dawnbreaker- Very useful burns the target for 10 points of damage and when used on Undead, it has a chance to replicate Bane of the Undead. You can get it on the quest for Meridia.

Silver Sword- I assume you will doing Companions and you get these on the second quest, they are overpowered later, but they are a good early weapon for clearing barrows full of Draug, because they do 2.2x as much damage to Undead.

Red Eagle's Bane- This is very useful, because fire damage is very effective on Undead and additionally has a Fear effect, replicating Turn Undead. To find read the book Red Eagle.

Bound Sword- If you use conjuration for bound weapons this is great because it traps the souls of the evil that tarnishes our world and banishes Unholy creatures.

Auriel's Bow(dawnguard)- You don't even need perks in Archery because, rather than attacking with it, we shoot a sunhallowed arrow at the sun and it sends down rays of Sunlight that damage Undead. You recieve it from Gelebor in the quest Touching the Sky.

Dawnguard Rune Axe- This is perhaps the best Paladin weapon as it does sun damage ranging from 10-100 in a 15ft area based on how many vampires you have killed. It is part of the Lost relic quest.

    Armor

Aetherial Crown(dawnguard)- This allows you to have to stones active and can be used in sync with the Falmer helmet. It is one of three items you are able to create at the Aetherial Forge.

Auriel's Shield(dawnguard)- This is useful in general because it will charge up power for succesful bashes and stores energy able to be released in a shot similar to the Unrelenting Force shout. It is aquired in the Forgotten Vale forest when using the Ruby Paragon.

Dawnguard Rune Shield- One of the best shields available because it creates an effect similar to Stendarr's Aura when blocking and does 10 extra bash damage to vampires. You get it as part of the Lost Relic quest

Spellbreaker- Finally a good Paladin item not part of Dawnguard. Ever what to use a Shield and a ward at the SAME TIME ? Well your wish has been granted because this shiel creates a high level ward when blocking. It is a Reward for the quest for Peryite, a non-evil Daedric Prince.

    Jewelry

Bond of Matrimony- It is an easily obtainable ring that reduces the cost of Restoration spells. You gain it by getting married.

Amulet of Mara- Buy from Maramal in the Bee and the Barb. Reduces the cost of Restoration spells by 10%.

Amulet of Stendarr- This amulet boosts the amount of damage your shield blocks. Usually you can find one in the Valtheim Towers.

Savos Aren's Amulet- This amulet boosts your magicka by fifty, which is helpful since you might not invest much in Magick. You aquire it upon completion of the College of Winterhold questline.

Ring of Erudite(dawnguard)- This ring boosts your magicka by a Whopping 100 Points! Found during the Rings of Blood quest.

    Blessings/Bonuses/Perks

Necromage- Makes your spells better against Undead, your specialty

Bonebreaker/Bladesman- Getting the bonus weapon specialty perks are critical!

Blessing of Mara- Restoration spells heal 10% more

Blessing of Stendarr- Block 10% more with your shield

Sailor's Response- Healing spells restore 10% more, important for obvious reasons. Reciev from quest what lies beneath.

Agent of Mara- Resist 15% of magic, only important for helping Mara in Mara's temple.

The Fire Within- Recieved from Greybeards, boosts the power of your most important shout by 25%, Fire Breath.

    Enchantments

Fiery Soul Trap- It traps Dammed souls and burns Undead, Questions?

Turn Undead- Important to Imbue fear into the Undead

Banish- To Banish evil, cursed Daedra

Fire Damage- When paired with Fiery Soultrap deals massive damage to Undead

    Stones

Lord Stone- Bonus to Protection/Armor and Magic Resistance for Dragons

Steed Stone- To save 3 perks

Lady Stone- So you can charge into battle

    Role-Playing Ideas

Draug Hunter- You hunt down Draug, in attempt to make the ground under Skyrim less feared, and to rid the land of the foul monsters.

Vampire Killer- You delve deep into caves seeking blood-suckers to slaughter, and to free skyrim of the cursed fiends.

Dragon Slayer- You slay dragons, as protector of Skyrim, and you make sure that the Dragons don't take control again.

Pacifistic Priest- Add in Illusion and Fists of Steel perk, you practice what you preach and you preach non-violence.

Divine Worshipper, you go around Skyrim placing offerings such as food, weapons, potions, and more on good Daedric Princes' Shrines/Temples

    Spells

Bane of the Undead- This spell will kill most Undead and those that it doesn't kill, flee from battle, making this an exteremely useful spell, but unfortunately it is recieved from the Ritual spell quest.

Guardian Circle- This is also an amazing spell because it heals you 20 points per second while in the circle and Undead entering the circle flee from battle. This spell also requires the Ritual spell quest.

Grand Healing- This spell is just amazing, it heals you and all your allies in range 200 points! and is only an expert level spell.

Vampires Bane- This spell added by Dawnguard damages Undead for 40 points in a 15ft radius, which is not that much compared to your weapons and sun bursts, but it is only an Adept level spell.

    Thief

The only problem with Thieves is that there aren't many Thief-like weapons, since Thieves try not to enter combat. So it took me a while to find some good weapons, but at least armor was easy.

    Weapons

Nightingale Bow- This weapon is pretty good because you can shoot enemies, and it will slow them down because it does frost and shock damage, and while they are slowed you can cast invisibility and slip away. It is recieved during the Thieves Guild questline.

Windshear- This weapon is also really great because it knocks enemies down giving you time to slip into the shadows. Find it in The Kataria.

Valdr's Lucky Dagger/ Mehrune's Razor- They are both useful because Valdr's Dagger has 25% chance to Crit. Hit, and Mehrune's Razor has a 1 2 or 3% chance to instant kill the target. This is great because, if you get lucky and kill them an enemy in one-hit, then you get over with the battle faster. Do the Pieces of the Past quest for Mehrune's Razor and Moss Mother Cavern quest for Valdr's Dagger.

    Armor

Guildmaster's Hood(thieves guild)- 20% better prices? Yes please, this hood is just amazing, I mean it is 1 of 2 pieces of armr that boosts prices besides necklaces.

Guildmaster's Armor(thieves guild)- Awesome, and if you combine it with the extra pockets perk and the steed stone, you could almost sweep a whole city.

Guildmaster's Gloves(thieves guild)- If you don't have any points in lockpicking, these gloves can be really helpful.

Nightingale Boots- The highest level ones in the game give you a complete muffle effect, and can be further enchanted.

Cicero's Clothes- The other armor piece that fortifies prices besides necklaces, must kill cicero or pickpocket them with the misdirection perk.

    Jewelry

Nightweavers Band- Fortifies Sneak 10% and reduces destruction spell costs by 10%, so it's useful if your a Spell Thief. Reward for quest Recipe for Disaster

Charmed Necklace- Fortifies carrying capacity by 25, given by Revelers or looted of their bodies. It is helpful when robbing a big city.

Amulet of Zenithar- This is great because it gives yopu 10% better prices, so you get the most for your goods.

Amulet of Dibella- Fortifies Speech so it is good for bribing or persuading.

    Blessings/Bonuses/Perks

Extra Pockets- Gives you an awesome 100 bonus to carry weight

Unbreakable- Makes your lockpicks never break

Prowler's Profit- Perhaps the most important bonus for a Thief, complete the quest Stones of Barenziah, and recieve this bonus that makes gems of all varieties show up more frequently.

Blessing of Zenithar- This Shrine gives a good 10% bonus to prices which is very helpful for a Thief

Blessing of Dibella- This Shrine gives 10 Bonus to Speech which is also very helpful

    Enchantments

Frost Damage- Helpful because it slows down enemies giving you a chance to grab an item and go.

Paralyze- Pretty much a better version of frost damage for a Thief's purposes

Carry Weight- This is great because it allows you to carry more goods, which is important for a Thief.

Prices- Helpful for getting the most for your goods, since you worked so hard to steal them, you want it to be worth your time.

Fear- It's great because it makes enemies flee so you can just walk on past them.

    Stones

Steed- Large capacity is important for a Thief

Serpent/Shadow/Ritual- To get you out of a pinch

Atronach/Lord- If you want bonus protection

    Spells

Invisibility- It subsitutes the Shadow stone, and you can use it more than once per day

Fear- Again you can just walk past enemies

Calm- For early on in case you get caught thieving and don't want to pay the fine

It's surprisingly hard to find any decent thief info on this site.  I can tell you have alot more experience with paladins than thieves :P ... but a good read nonetheless.  I look forward to more updates.  Also, best heavy armor combo in the game - Ebony Chest + Steel Plate everything else.  Nice job!

    +1

Any chance that you have one for a Necromancer and/or a Battlemage?

I hope I don't come across as rude, but this post was made back in 2013, and the guy who made it hasn't really been active in quite some time. I don't think he has any more gear sets, but I bet you could look through some of the actual builds for necromancers and/or battlemages to see what kind of gear they're putting together in them.

Oh fair enough. And you didn't come across as rude, I see your point now I just didn't check the date of the post, any builds that may have any good gear combos?

Here's the NecromancerSpellsword, and Battlemage tags. I would suggest sorting them by most popular and just cruise the listings. Finding gear listings can be complicated, but a lot of the high ranked posts can be surprisingly creative.

    Fair enough. Thanks
