Poems In Ten Minutes Or Less

When a member writes a poem to add to the blog they spend time refining it and they carefully chose the right words while painstakingly making sure it all fits.

So what would we get if we were under a time constraint?

The rules are simple, you have ten minutes or less. Let’s see what everyone can come up with.

This is my entry. It’s nothing serious but I hope you all like it.

    This here’s a Skyrim song,

I dunno many words so it won’t last long.

A stranger came to Whiterun from somewhere about,

He killed a dragon then found he could shout.

He entered a camp tis was full of bandits that night.

Drawing his sword he prepared for a fight.

FUS RO DAA I heard him cry

Then in no less than a second did three bandits die.

Several months later so our tale is told,

Some bits he bought while others he sold.

    Alduin as black as night

Swooped down from the sky for a fight.

Knowledge past from a old Dragon taught,

Eventually in Sovnguarde Alduin was sought

    The Dragonborn true, never surrendered

JOOR ZAH FRUL.... One Dragon Rendered....

    Some flowers are red

    Some flowers are blue

    Faendal loves Camilla

    Sven loves her too

    BANG! 1 1/2 Minutes

Hahaha...  I can imagine Shin scribbling that down on a piece of parchment.

    "Hey I'm a poet!!!"

    I like Whiterun

    Solitude's good too

    Nazeem is a jerk

    Ja-ree's nothing new.

K, I gots one. So I had the first line stewing in my brain as I wrote my latest chapter for steam forums. The rest just sort of vomited out. Took about 10 minutes, and it's very short. If you've read Albee's tale, especially the recent flashback, you'll understand the poem.

By ivory tomb in grotto fair,
    Sundered sang of life despaired,
By indigo cloak and golden hair,
    Faith renewed and hope repaired.

I can guess the relevance to this for Albee. Well done Lissette. It fits rather well.

I'd like to give this a proper go but any pomes what I write usually tend towards gibberish. And if anyone says "I'm not surprised" I shall be cross
