I´m an Imperial from Cyrodiil!

I´ve been recently thinking about the time when I launched Oblivion (or Morrowind) for the first time in my life. What was going in my head when I got to race menu?

I have to tell you that I was kinda confused by so many races - and ugly beasts! What was actually my first character? Ha, those who know me know that I love Orcs, but no, that wasn´t my first character. For Oblivion it was Imperial.

I had zero knowledge about the game, only that Imperials are most common in the place where I´ll be playing. Zero knowledge abou skills and attributes, but I rolled Imperial thief - or assassin, I can´t really remember now. It made the most sense to me, to play the native race of the place where I´m playing.

And sometime later, when I got my hands on Morrowind GotY, I already had more knowledge about the world, yet I rolled Dunmer. Because they are native to Morrowind! I think he was some kind of warrior, using spears and such - I was intrigued by them, because they weren´t in Oblivion.

But why I am talking about all this nostalgic nonsense? Well, I´m interested in your opinion.

Did you rolled the native races for those games for the first time too?

Can you even remember what kind of characters they were?

    Do you remember their story?

I have played Argonians first in every TES game to date... And finished them too  Dunno, why, just felt right!

I can't recall my first Morrowind Character at all, holy crap that would have been... like 2004 maybe, Oblivion wasn't much later if I recall. I have no idea what I ran at all.

I'd guess an Imperial for Oblivion, I do tend to roll the native Race and I was knowledgeable enough by then to know they were. Morrowind I can't say, I probably ran a Nord if I'll be honest, their Racial Abilities seemed better then the rest.

Probably a Jack-of-all-Trades for both, the odds of me running a character that didn't do everything I could was...low (Though my first MW character did not do the Thieve's Guild, I distinctly remember having no idea how to find them)

Ha! Argonians didn´t felt right to me then and still don´t!

But still, I can´t imagine why. I mean, back then all fantasy games were about humans and elves and then suddenly I had this TES game I didn´t understand, which had cat and lizard races in it! I mean, I think I was really hyped out by it! But I think that I never played them back then just because they felt alien to me.

I can imagine someone rolling them because they look cool and shit, but I always liked to know something about what I´m playing.

Lol, I think I rolled Argonian in Oblivion once back then. He was heavy armor warrior who couldn´t swim I think...

I remember for Oblivion I ran a bosmer on my first go, although I abandoned him after I ran out of lockpicks while doing one of the dark brotherhood quests.

I remember I always did everything in Oblivion no matter what character I was playing.

I´m sadly one of those who started with Oblivion, even while I was old enough to play Morrowind. It was just that back then, information weren´t that easily accessable, so I got to Oblivion through my friend, who showed it to me. I learned that there is Morrowind like one year after I played the hell out of Oblivion.

But still...I really can´t remember how it feels...not understanding TES. It´s something completely unthinkable to me.

I remember I was running around in Morrowind and shooting from bow and being infuriated by that I evidently hit the enemy but didn´t do damage, lol! I really didn´t understand how Morrowind works.

It was my first elder scrolls game so I was unaware of how stupid they are... mate

I followed him up with a Dunmer warrior that I finished the game with.

Classic Golden, playing the Bosmer in the only game they sucked total shit

Though I can understand why you quit, I ran out of Lockpicks during the first Thieve's Guild quest on my...probably 1st-4th playthrough and just decided to go on a rampage and restart

Yeah, I'm definitely those type of players who play the native races of each land. (Would go Argonian if TES: VI is set in Black Marsh

I remember during my first playthrough, I actually tried to clear Kvatch at lv 1... LV 1! Totally got horned by those clannfears...
