I’ve played too many mages in Oblivion, and the Heavy-Armored Warrior was boring me, so I tried a new character, based off a loved concept: The Ronin! This one is an unarmored, non-magical, disgraced warrior, with only his sword and bow to make his way through a cruel world…

So welcome to the first character build of the group “Elder Scrolls Classics”

"It is a brave act of valor to condemn death, but where life is more terrible than death it is then the truest valor to dare to live." - (Sir Thomas Browne)

           ~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~

    Race - Nord

    • I went with Nord for the increase endurance, and the all “Warrior-Poet” lore around then.

    Birthsign - Warrior/Steed

    • I went with Warrior for RP, But the Steed was a very good choice (My character started as a heavy armored warrior, so the moviment bonus of the speed and the favored attributes wouldn’t make sense, his speed increased when he removed the armor, but not to a superhuman level of speed, only through Training he could achieve a higher speed, in the end that choice also was based in RP, funny how I don’t even care how much my character is weakened in the name of Roleplaying)

Custom Class - Ronin -  Blade, Block, Alchemy, Archery, Acrobatics, Atletics, Sneak

There's nothing to Explain, Blade is for your sword, Block is your defense, Alchemy is your crafting, To boost both offense and defense, Archery is used to kill from afar, Acrobatics and Atletics for agility in the battlefield, and Sneak for Planning before battle

Favored Atributes - Strength and Endurance

    Levelling - Strenght + Endurance + Speed

Grand Champion… Great Honor… Then why I don’t feel honored at all? He never even fought back, and they brand me a hero”

Gear - Not really important, although I really like the look of Zealot Robes and Monk Robes with this character. Your weapons will be both the Akaviri Warblade and the Akaviri Sunderblade (I Rped those as different combat stances) and the best bow that you can find

“I’m no murderer, yet the one who said I was lays in a pool of blood…”

    1Oblivion Ronin.jpg

"The dance of battle is always played to the same impatient rhythm. What begins in a surge of violent motion is always reduced to the perfectly still." - Sun Tzu

            ~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~

Gameplay - Scout ahead, as mindless rushing and slashing/stabbing will only leads to death, with your trusty bow you should make a choice from the cover of the shadow - Who dies first.

The strong one, leaving just the weak enemies to you slash, stab and dodge or the weaker ones, creating a 1V1 battle?

when in open combat against one enemy - speed is your best advantage, dodge and slash then only to backstep while they try to power attack, roll behind then before they can recover and hit a blind spot (Poison) Powers attacks are slow, take advantage of that.

Against multiple enemies try to fall back into the shadows, or shoot your arrows while quickly dodging, jumping, running and rolling around the battlefield, when the battlefield is leveled you can pick your Dai-Katana and quickly, but graciously defeat your enemies with your superior sword skill.

                          “I’m a murderer… there’s no way to deny…”

    4Oblivion Ronin4.jpg

"War is not about who is right, it is about who is left."

Roleplaying - quoting Shinjin: “a character whose sense of honor and glory drives him to the arena in pursuit of both. He gains the title that he seeks, but inwardly he feels that he has disgraced himself through his achievement. His note from the Black Hand only confirms what he already knew deep in his heart... his fight in the grand arena wasn't a fight; it was cold-blooded murder. Shame. Disgrace. BTW, I think a lot of people who played Oblivion should be able to identify with that backstory... the first time I took on the Grey Prince and realized that he wasn't going to fight back it just about broke my heart--It felt so dirty winning like that. From there his self-loathing and self exile, as well as his quest to right wrongs even if it means bending his former sense of what he believed honor to be, that’s his internal conflict. His disgrace in the murder of the Grey Prince haunts him even as he tries to find redemption [...] if he's going to be a killer, he's going to do it for all the right reasons.”

"When you aim for perfection, you discover it's a moving target."

          ~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~

    Special Attacks

Breakdown - Akaviri Sunderblade, Poison Of Paralysis

Found a enemy with a good armor and a good weapon, who’s really hard to kill and is doing ton’s of damage with his weapon? no worries, change your combat stance, hit him in a good spot, leaving him helpless in the ground and stack your enchantments until both his armor and his weapon are broken

"Know thy self, know thy enemy. A thousand battles, a thousand victories." - Sun Tzu

                                                                 Special Thanks
To Jayce Weik, Shinjin and Borommakot!

This is great. Good on you for making the First ESC Build Ever!

In regards to the actual build- it is very good. Unique idea and good presentation. One thing I would work on is that some of the sentences you use, especially in the gameplay section, are dramatically questionable. Other than that, well done.

I see you've had a little formatting problem with all the tildes !

Nice, good job setting the standard for the rest!
A few things, though: You don't really list any quests (don't know if that's how it works here), though I think you imply doing the arena? It's also worth mentioning you misspell strength wrong multiple times (just a letter mix-up).

And those poisons look absolutely deadly! Does serpent strike do fire and frost, or only one?

Ning was hungry today, and my site to turn DOC into HTML decided that working as intended would make my life too easy... Yeah, I imply doing the arena, but completely forgot about other questlines! I haven't done any other questline other than arena, I mostly wandered around, killing bad guys with my bow and sword, Althought I recommend the main quest and fighters guild. Goddamn, I always write that word wrong... *Sigh* Both fire and frost! It's a truly deadly poison.

Hey there congrats on getting the first Oblivion Build up. The build itself is interesting and the quotes and pictures really seem to match the overall theme of the build. +1 from me.

Joined the Classics specifically to comment on this build... great job, and a great first CB for Classics. A Ronin was my first Oblivion build, and this one turned out AWESOME! Nice to see this turned out so well.

    Excellent work as always! :D

And I LOVE those caption quotes!

Thanks, Jin! I would probably be still having problems with the Backstory and Rping if not by your help, thank you!
