I guess I look forward to the more exciting perks during early levels, such as Conjuration's Soul Stealer, Block's Elemental Protection, Two-handed's Great Critical Charge or Archery's Steady Hand for example.
I usually save a perk if I'm close to unlocking a perk that has an active effect rather than use it on a passive, even if I need that passive armour boost more Hey, it keeps the game fun!
