Tales of the Mentor: Prologue

  • In the harsh land of Skyrim, dragons have arisen from their graves, wreaking havoc upon the citizens of Skyrim. Only one hero can truly defeat them, a hero with the very soul of the nation's greatest threat. This hero is known as the Dragonborn. With the ancient powers of the Thu'um, the Dragonborn will end the dragon threat. .....this is not that hero's story. Instead, the story starts off in Morrowind, during the 3rd era. The ashlanders of the Erabenimsun tribe value strength above all else. Amongst them, the champion Ashahul Timsar-D, one of their strongest warriors deals with the tribe's affairs along with their wise woman Manirai. Like other ashlander tribes in Morrowind, they do not appreciate outsiders, especially the Great Houses. Ashahul has dealt with the members of the Great Houses, although he only met them with the edge of his sword and axe. Over the years he has clashed with bandits, necromancers, and soldiers from the Great House of Redoran. Recently though, his loyalties to his tribe began to waver as he continued the fight for his people. Both his tribe, and house Redoran lost many lives due to their conflict. His thoughts were on different matters today, he is to gather some of the tribe's hunters and scout out one of the roads leading to the city of Blacklight. He lead his party to the road and one of his hunters motioned down the road. "A cart," said one hunter "it bares the mark of house Redoran. No soldiers are guarding it!" "Then we slaughter them!" said another, "Like their members have done with so many of our kin!" The party of hunters began to quickly agree, but Ashahul stepped in. "We attack only if they are a threat," he began "if they are a threat then do not hesitate. There is no need to shed innocent blood!" "What of house Redoran's raids?" spoke one of the other hunters, "Did THEY speak of innocents within our camp before they attacked us?!" "What they did was not upholding honor! They attack during the night, where we cannot defend ourselves! We are much more honorable than that!" "Honor demands to repay them for their actions- starting with this cart!" At this moment Ashahul drew his sword and axe, getting ready for a fight that will surely end his life.

Ashahul is a warrior above all else. Yes, he deals with the affairs of his tribe and the outside world, but he is quick tempered in his youth like anyone else. He believes that honor is met on the battlefield, not wondering around slaying innocents who pr...  more

Ooh, a Dunmer tale! I like how you lured me into thinking "not another Dovahkiin story" before ripping that rug out from beneath me
This looks like a good start but I am slightly confused: Does Ashahul change his mind? First he doesn't want a fight...  more
