Friessa - Valdimar And The Manor

  • Return To Morthal

I rode Abby back to Morthal, I travelled throught a large ruin which I believe to be Labyrinthian, I felt a great surge of power coming from inside it. I encountered several frost trolls during my travel throught the surrounding area, I made of quickly on Abby not looking behind.

I arrived in Morthal and went to see Jarl Idgrod, she told me she had heard about my help I have to the people of Hjaalmarch and granted me a place in her court as thane, she also granted me a housecarl named Valdimar, a large nord in scaled armour, he seemed pleasant enought. We made our way off to my plot of land and decided we should get to work on my house, we past an old Nordic ruin and were ambushed by a necromancer who had controld of several bandits, great! Valdimar cast several ice spikes and swiftly took out the necormancer and then is minions dropped to the floor.

We arrived at my plot of land and it had a stunning view of Solitude and the marshes leading to it, Valdimar and I knocked up a set of plans and over the next several days we build the basic structure of a house, I asked him if he wouldn't mind popping over to Solitude to pick up some supplies for kitting out the interior of the house, he accepted and was back within a day. We made the inside homely and had a nice view of the marshes from inside the windows. We began to stockpile more resources as we figured out what to build next. I made a trip to the Solitude lumber mill and asked them if they could ship over some logs in the near future, the Orc there was grumpy but not as bad as Jorgen. During my journey throught the marshes I cam across this horrid beast spitting poison at me, my two frost atronachs dispatched of it and as I inspected it I found that it was a chaurus, my they are ugly!

When I returned I saw Valdimar had knocked up a stable for Abby, this was sweet of him. He showed me the plans for the extending of the house and we decided that it was possible however we would need some more man-power to build it, we did have the available resouces which is good. I headed back to Morthal and asked around town if anyone would be willing to help out, a large man named Benor said he would as long as he recieved food, drink and coin for his work, we bartered for several minutes and and came to a deal of fifty septims a day and venison stew and ale for supper, and a horse ride home, from Valdimar not me.

Over the next few days we had built a great extension onto the house it was looking to be a fine manor, however we were having issues with bandits stealing our resources during our work breaks. Valdimar and Benor chose to scout out their camo first, they found out there were six bandits in total.

At dusk we launched an attack on their camp, Valdimar and I attacking them from afar, Valdimar with ice spikes and myself with my summoned bow. Benor and two frost atronachs were taking the fight to them as they were crushed under their brute strength. I killed a bandit by shooting him in the eye from afar, I felt my stomach churn as I saw what I had done to him... Fighting fellow man and mer is a hard task for me, I need to find a way to overcome this, problem of mine. We returned to my manor and retired for the night, we spent the morning bringing our lost resources back.

Valdimar and I plan to make plans for the area around this great hall, however we still need to built it first!

Good choice of home, Windstad is my favourite of the Hearthfire houses. I lke the swamp at dusk, very eerie!

Glad you're enjoying it buddy, hopefully the next part should be out tonight depending on whether I get all my work done. I agree about the combat and am probably going to go for a dungeon romp and see how I can talk about that.

There are some excellent parts to this story so far. Especially his reluctance to harm humans. I like his developing skills in conjuration and you have a built some great relationships with believable conversations. One thing I would say is try to mix up ...  more
