Friessa - My First Fight

  • The Invasion Of Vampires

I saw Jarl Idgrod, she seemed like a pleasant enough woman, slightly senile but that comes to all with old age... Maybe that's why father... Sorry. To the task at hand. Idgrod and I discussd the burnt down house, she told me a man, Hroggar, had lost his family there and that he had suddenly proposed to another woman, Alva, after the events.

I made my way over to the house and saw the ghost of a child, I assumed this was Hroggar's child, Helgi, and after questioning her I found out I was correct. She wanted me to play with her, I was to find her after dark she told me, she then vanished. I decided to take a little look around town to try and find out where she may be. Around the back of the burnt house, slightly north east, was a small coffin that looked perfect for the size of a child. I resided in the inn for severl hours talking to the Orc bard, my he's thick! As dusk went I headed outside and to the coffin and there was a woman standing there, she pulled a blade out and charged at me. I dodged and conjured my sword and two large frost atronachs, we made swift work of her, the blocking Maiq taught me came in very handy. I opened the coffin and there was Helgi, well in her ghost form, she said she was glad I'd found her and not Lalette, the woman who attacked me, then Helgi vanished.

A man walked up the path carrying a torch, he must have heard the commotion. He saw the woman lying on the floor and said her name several times before beginning to sob, he slowly stopped and approached me, axe drawn. I began to run as he stopped, turned around and exclaimed at that she was a vampire. I hadn't noticed. I snuck off around the corner before he could question me.

I saw several people running into the inn shouting "vampire!" I'd already killed her guys, however they were running from the opposite direction to where I had slain Lalette. I strolled over towards where Bjorlam had dropped me off and noticed someone in robes about 80 yards away. I crouched, conjured to flame atronachs, something tells me vampires don't like fire, conjured my bow, knocked my arrow and hit the bastard in the leg, slowing his movement as he tried to find me. My atronachs seemed focused on something else, it seems this vampire had two dog like things with him that where quickly hunting down out position. Another several shots where imbedded into the chest of the vampire as he fell to the floor, I left and let my atronachs deal with the dogs.

I remember that man, Thonnir I believe his name was, mentioning something about a lady named Alva. I inquired where she lived to one of the guards and he pointed next to Falion's house. I made my way over and found out that the door was locked, good thing I'd bought those lockpicks off that Khajit. When I entered I was attacked by Alva and a man, later finding out it was Hroggar, I summoned a flame atronach and my sword, I blocked and parried Hroggar's attacks whilst trying to take down Alva who was being charred by the atronach, a slick slash to the neck bought her down and allowed me to plunge my sword through her heart. I was shouting at Hroggar to stop and told him he had been manipulated, he wouldn't listen, I had no choice, I made it painless for him and chopped his head off as I dodged out of the way as he took a large swing for my shoulder.

I searched Alva's house and in her cellar found a journal. It was inside a coffin. Great! I read it and was horrified and what I saw, I took it straight to the Jarl as I was extremely worried. Jarl Idgrod read the journal and agreed that something must be done, vampires where planning to take over the town. Outside I found a group of not very well equipped civilians who had banded together to help me. When we got to the vampire lair all but one, Thonnir left as they were scared, bunch of wimps!

Thonnir and I entered, my flame atronachs made quick work of the spiders that lay below us. The slaughtering of these demonic beasts was uneventful, I had found a way to make consuming my potions in battle quick and easy, I took these whenever needed and it took only several well placed shots to stop these bastards in their tracks. Thonnir made it out alive which I was glad of, I didn't want to go in their alone I am not proud to say. We left the cave victorious, I am still a bit shaken up as this is the first time I have killed people, well, things that used to be people. I may talk about the events in more detail later, however now is when I went back to the Jarl. She was suprised at our victory but very greatful, she rewarded me handsomely, offered me a place in her hold as a thane, an honourary title, father should be proud. I gladly accepted the task and I had to perform small jobs around her hold, sounds easy enough. As I left I bought a plot of land so I could be relatively near Falion.

Alva is never hostile in my games and when I break into her house she is never there. I always seem to find her napping in Movarth's Lair andĀ even then she doesn't attack me.
