This is the story of how my male orsimer (orc) mage gets imprisoned. (Fyi, a 'herse' is essentially a type of chieftain.)
Gaz gro-Shurgak wondered why he was under trial. He had done nothing wrong. 'Heathens', he thought. He should’ve gone to Whiterun instead of this backwater town. But he had heard the herse’s wife was excellent at restoration magic, especially spells of fortification. He had intended to purchase such a spell with the gold he had saved. But she refused his generous offer, and called the guards. A simple ‘no’ would have sufficed. He figured that once he explained himself, all would be fine. So, he did not resist the guards.
The next morning he found himself in the center of the courtroom, the herse of Helgen, himself, was presiding. “I have already heard an account from my wife. But I want to hear it from you, to make certain that there had been no misunderstanding. I simply cannot believe that you could have been so brazen. So, I ask you, orc, why did you come here to see my wife?”
Finally! Gaz thought. The matter will be cleared up soon, and he would be on his way. Gaz replied slowly and calmly, carefully choosing his words, “Great and nobly horse, I meant no defense. My intent was simply to learn the ways of fornication with your wife. Knowing she had much experience on the manner, I was offering her 40 gold. This is twice the payment she has accepted in the past, from fiends of mind. My health is in need…”
“Enough, you dare insult me, in my house, in this court!” the herse interrupted. He turned to his guards, “Return him to his cell, he is to be executed, first thing tomorrow morn!”
Gaz was shocked. Is everyone here insane, or perhaps under some sort of spell. He thought he had been quite clear - people purchase restoration spells everyday. Gaz controlled his anger and held his head high as he was escorted from the courtroom.
