A Lovely Letter By Riitu gro-Hiik

  • A town of peace and quiet,

a hamlet of river and wood.

    At beginning of adventure,

this gate is where I stood.

An elf here I did meet,

a man I did meet too.

Both fighting o'er the same lass,

    neither fighting with words true.

The elf, a letter he did give me,

filled with lies about the man.

Asked me to give it to the lass,

her flames of love for the elf I'd fan.

Not pleased with the elf's deception,

I took it to his rival, in hopes of truth.

Instead he gave me one of the elf,

asked me to lie about him, forsooth!

Neither elf nor man, deserved this lass,

both filled with lies and hate.

So I formed a plan, to benefit me,

    her love myself I'd sate.

I went to her, with words of truth,

    and lovely letter bold.

I told her all, of what she deserved,

and the lies her suitors told.

Into my big green arms, is where she ran,

the two rivals best love each other, if they can.

For after an orc like me, you'd best believe,

she'll not again love elf nor man!

Nice telling of the Riverwood scenario in poem form.

Poems tend to feature stanza format, so I took the liberty of attempting an arrangement for you. LOL, at first I thought it was a too short blog until I saw the poem tag. Very nice poem. Those two guys are silly and glad at the ending.
