I'm not sure this sits well with me and speaking out is probably tantamount to Skyrim Blog suicide what with all the big names here. So this could very well be my last post if turns out I'm tarred, feathered and run out on a rail.
But fuck it, here goes:
While I think I understand the aim of this build in being both satirical and exemplary, I can't help thinking that it is also elitist and insulting. The folks who come to a site like this and want to contribute in some way are, for the most part, not your average CoD playing mouth-breather.
Rarely do computer games prove themselves to be something more than "just a game" to the general non-gaming community and demonstrate themselves as forms of art. To me, games like Skyrim are gems in our hobby's treasure trove as they inspire people to create wonderful things, from art and fiction; to poetry and charcater builds.
There are already a huge amount of great builds here that even havng an idea which hasn't aready been done is extremely difficult, let alone putting one's own personal spin on it. The fact that someone has torn themselves away from the tv screen and taken time to write and create something should be applauded, not mocked.
In fact, is the riddiculing even necessary? This area of the blog is by far the busiest due to both how inspiring Skyrim is as a game and because of the talented individuals behind the best builds. It is only natural that people wish to be as good as some of those guys. So it is a testament to the guidance and diligence of Chacter Building's hosts and supporters that builds like this one aren't commonplace.
The people most involved in this group quickly put new starters on the right track, while trolls are also swiftly taken care of by the same team. Because Skyrim appeals to people of all ages (despite it's Uk15 rating) it is probable that younger fans are behind builds like this one most of the time. Those who do make posts like this are then nurtured and taught by the masters of the craft and, if they stay, become valued members with useful insights and contributions.
In fact I'd be surprised if a mature individual genuinely created something like this without researching first. With age comes wisdom, afterall.
So isn't an example like this redundant when those things have been taken into consideration?
This is the part where I try and massage any bruised egos and mend any wounds my words may have inflicted, assuming I'm not ignored of course. I don't want to leave, afterall!
I respect all of you yet know very few of you as well as I would like. I've been inspired to create, moved to both laughter and sadness by a great many of you. But you are all only human, subject to human emotion. So my current assumption is that Ponty is just upset - understandably so - and wishes to highlight the reasons for his annoyance.
Recently there was a Deathmatch involving a large number of quality builds. I remember feeling sad that the authors of some of those builds were no longer around. Are we to blame that? Could it be that someone put their heart and soul into something creative only to be ignored because someone more important posted a bullshit status? Can you imagine how crushing that could be?
We're all guilty of not going back through the pages and respecting other people's overlooked creativity from time to time, so I urge everyone to stop looking at the info feed and delve into a random page somwhere and unearth a gem for us all to marval at.
I'll shut up now.

Hey Phil, haha nobody is going to shun you for speaking your mind here mate!
Firstly Ponty wrote this build but all the hosts were privy to it's creation and none of us were angry or frustrated (well ben may have been but he's always pretty angry and frustrated). We had been toying with the idea of creating a more detailed character building 'guide' to help new people in the group. This 'build' however says more than any guide ever could...
Most people who post a build want it to be a success but for new people there are a number of potential mistakes that will instantly turn readers away from the post, this page is simply a compendium of all the things people collectively hate in character builds (except build music, everyone loves that one ), the hope is that new builders will take a look at this and avoid some of the more obvious mistakes.
It wasn't created to poke fun at any individual or try to discredit anyone, it's simply our way of saying "If you do this your builds going to sink like a damp fart", a fact that has been confirmed over and over again.
