    This is very well written - no surprises there, considering the author - and is well thought out as it captures the spirit of the character nicely. Admittedly, I haven't read all the books and only started part two recently, but I was thrilled to see references and reimaginings to things I know. For instance, the Call of Valour and Marked for Death special moves are inspired intepretations of items and events.

    I admit I was a little lost halfway through when I saw the Path Skill section between major and minor skills. Did I miss something? It seems to me that I would need to use the template provided and choose either Pickpocket, Stealth or Archery once I have selected a path, is that correct?

    I soon got back into it when I read the paths available and your interpretations on those character archetypes.

    My only issue is the length of this build. I appreciate both yours and Ben's points as both are valid but I'd urge you to maybe take another look from a different perspective. As an example I'd point out the College of Winterhold section; by the time I got to that part I was already clear that this build didn't use magic or suit it. So naming the faction only to say don't do it seemed superfluous.

    That aside, this build is undeniably dripping with flavour and innovative interpretation. I especially liked your use of staves, the Rune Hammer, scrolls and alchemy.

    Thanks for the comments Phil. I'll try to respond to them.

    I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the writing of the build. Robert Jordan was an amazing author and I tried to put my best work into this.

    I understand you being lost at the Path Skill section. I'll change it to list that the skill options are Stealth, Pickpocket, and Archery, it'll help guide players better. Good advice there.

    The College of Winterhold faction was admittedly added as a crack against the White Tower from the books, I couldn't help but toss a reference in there. I know it's not necessary but I think it's rather entertaining.

    If the character build guidelines allowed it I would put a bare-bones version of the class somewhere in the document, but the structure of the very specific. I decided that in those circumstances it was better to have the flavor text throughout the build rather than jammed in at the end.

    If I could find a happy medium I would definitely pursue it, but looking back at this build there's just no feasible way to present the 'crunch' in a more compartmentalized manner without damaging the structure of the contents of the fluff.

    Incredible build, and I don't use that word very often. Amazing roleplaying asthetics and a solid playstyle. +1 and I am definitly going to play this.

    Nice to know someone else reads the Wheel of Time series. I'm Fourteen and I've read the entire series about three times.

    I love this. You captured Mat perfectly I think. I also enjoyed your subtle hints referencing the White Tower and Rand. Nicely done!

    Thank you! I would have preferred it if the game had staves / spears / throwing knifes but sword and board was as close as I could get mechanically. Thanks for noticing the hints, I wanted to spice up the writing a bit so it resonated more with fans.

    Haven't read any of the books, but I did notice this. "Finally, you don’t really feel like the Chosen One type, but if there aren’t any red-headed step-children to step up to the plate, you might as well do what you can." I figured you were either going insane or it's a reference, so I decided to go with both ;)

    It's a reference. One of the other, more typical hero-types of the books has red hair and questionable parentage. Mat Cauthon doesn't really fit the hero mold, but he's definitely the type who'll do what he has to if there's no other choice.

    I love this build! Dude, the Wheel of Time is my favourite book series, and the way you transferred Mat t oSkyrim is brilliant. And the references are funny, ones to Perrin, Rand, the White Tower and Mat's quotes. You gonna try making any other Whell of Time builds? I reckon Rand, Perrin, Moiraine and Lan could be done easily enough. I'd love a Lan/Moiraine build, could possibly do them together, if you could find a stone-faced warrior companion or a Aes Sedai-like female mage.

    I may. I wrote up this build because frankly it's my favorite way to play the game and I'd tested it a lot. I'll keep you posted.
