Weapon Speed isn't a thing in KOTOR (well, outside of Knight/Master Speed anyway); everything attacks at the same rate. Also, while there are some crystal combinations with good synergism that make for nice specialty sabers (e.g. Luxm and Firkraan make for a great droid destroyer), Double-Bladed Lightsabers can utilize this synergism effectively too.

    Thanks for the feature.

A Scout-Consulor was my "canon" Revan. I only went darkside once with him, though - it's so bleak! I agree that a darkside Consulor is a little more powerful and fun, though.

Yeah, I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of the dark side from a story/roleplaying standpoint; you go around acting like an asshole all game and things get kinda depressing near the end. Still, I usually go dark side with my Consulars for a greater range of offensive force powers.

Yeah, good point, you can certainly justify a lot of the dark side actions in KOTOR as being for the greater good of aiding your quest. Personally, I still feel like an asshole though whenever I go the dark side route.

Such as a well intentioned extremist (like Renegade Shepard at times), or one who fights monsters, and becomes the very thing he fought against

I liked that in KotOR II Kreia hints that Revan turned to the dark side because he saw it as the best way to unite the galaxy against a greater evil. I know that the modern canon contradicts that idea but I liked it nevertheless.

SPOILER ALERT: This is something that really I love to talk about, some of my information is rather old, in other words I haven't dealt with KOTOR in a good 2-4 years so my memory might be a little sketchy. Don't read ahead if you are planning on heavily investing yourself in the KOTOR universe but haven't at least read the Revan Book. Also I will mostly be dealing with canon, not fan theories or how I played the game.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ah, the Knights of the Old Republic series (both the games and books) create a very intriguing view of both the Galaxy and the Force that we hadn't seen until that point. Revan did have arguably good intentions. He wanted to bring peace to the galaxy and was building an Army to stop the Sith Empire from taking over the Galaxy. That is an admirable goal and unfortunately the only way he saw that happening was by destroying the Republic.

When Malak and Revan find the Sith Empire they both made a decision to turn to the Dark Side (I'm oversimplifying it a little). Revan wasn't evil though. He was Dark but not evil. Revan was never responsible for any of the horrible things you hear the Sith Empire do and honestly was a rather nice guy (except for the invading and killing) he only killed when necessary and was honorable within reason (It's War, he can hardly be Mr. Goody-two-shoes) . Malak is the one who was truly evil and ended up destroying entire planets and killing anyone who stood in his way.

This is the thing that I love most about the universe of Knights of the Old Republic, it showed that the Dark Side doesn't mean Evil all the time which in Star Wars lore is fairly rare. The Dark Side corrupts and that's pretty much the entire point of %80 of Star Wars games, books and movies but Revan showed us that it was possible to withstand the Dark Side (arguably).

After the events of Knights of the Republic one we actually see Revan learn more about his past (remember he never got his memory back, that was pretty much the greatest ending) and travel back to the Sith Empire, I don't know what happens to him after a fight where he gets his ass kicked. Anyway in canon he follows the Light Side but more on the Neutral Side.

I've rambled for long enough but tl:dr, Revan is awesome. KOTOR bit more Neutral focused

Yeah, that was one of my favorite parts of KOTOR II. The first KOTOR hints at it as well, albeit more subtly. It's a shame though, because like you said, later canon (specifically TOR, I believe) shoots down that idea.

Basically Good is not Soft and Dark is not evil Revan was an Anti-Hero

That sort of murky morality is something I really enjoyed too but find too infrequently in Star Wars but done to perfection in the KotOR series. Grey Jedi like Jolee Bindo have always been fascinating to me and what that means about the force in terms of intent vs use.
