Wearing the parts from Azhidals Armor will only grant you about 10% damage reduction (taking into account improvements on the work bench), with perks that wouldbe around 25% at lvl 100. To get to lvl 80 in heavy armor with only 3 pieces equipped, you would have to get hit constantly (not really going to happen often enough until lvl 40), and 5 spent perk points isnt worth those 10% additional armor. Much rather use a Stoneflesh spell if you want the additional protection. It will grant a bit less reduction but at almost no cost whatsoever, without wasting 5 perkpoints. Armor is even less efficient on lower difficulties.
There is a discussion in the tips and tricks section thats called "Perk lvl calculator" or something like that. There is a file attached which you can use to calculate your overall lvl that you would reach with the lvl of the different skill trees. It is really useful.
Edit: This one.

I think Sotek has to make a decision on whether aesthetics and integrity of the character outweigh mechanics.
Granted, ancient Nords seemed to have more respect for mages and there is indication, from my conversations with the Lorc as he presses through the Rift in ESO that the Companions even employed mages as sages as their leadership. However, that being said, this is fourth era Companions, not second era. By this time, the cultural prejudice against magic is quite strong, especially after the collapse of Winterhold and the Great War. You even hear it in the training circle when you spar with Vilkas. He says "none of that fancy magic" or something like that. Also, there is lore that says that werewolves "give up" the magic of men for the magic of Hircine. In my humble opinion, this would not be a magic-using build.
But, it is ultimately Sotek's choice.
Sotek, Alea has a delicious little bit of dialogue where she expresses interest in the Civil War. Something about "snowberries getting all the glory". May be something to explore from a quest standpoint.

It’s a tough choice builders make when they look at NPC’s or character roles. There’s always a question of better options/better equipment/perks. The trouble is when we wish to create something specific is that every time we compromise and adapt the perks/equipment then we can easily stray away from the original concept. Something wonderful is created, but also something is lost.
I don’t think this is a road I wish to take. If I did then the build would rapidly turn into a U.O.T.W. Aela.
Dragonscale armor. Dragonbone Bow. Dragonbone arrows. Dragonbone dagger. Horse. Den in Greenspring Hollow. Lakeview manor as a den.
I’m going to go the ‘Stay True’ to the NPC Aela. No doubt if others give the build a go then they will/may adapt for more their play style. It’s not about making a Huntress Build.
It’s about making THE Huntress build. Aela the huntress.
I know I will have to sacrifice armor ratings as she does not wear a helm. Yes, I’m pushing it with a Circlet but I genuinely believe it adds to her look.
Lissette put it well I think. It’s a case of aesthetics and integrity with Aela.
Workbench improvements is a waste of time as she is unskilled in Smithing so she will never unlock the perk to improve enchanted armor. this leaves making animal skins and basic items for smithing leveling. There's no spellcasting at all so the magic schools will not participate at all on her leveling up. Same as pickpocketing. Aela wouldn't do it so this isn't an option either.
As I play test I might well find some of my perk choices are out of her reach. if thats teh case then I will re evaluate teh perks rather than loose character integrity.
*Relycs.
I tried to lok but the comp won't link it. i'll have a propper look tonight.

Decision made.

I will have to look into this. One thing does strike me. She follows Kodlak despite personal feelings would she get involved in the war?

I can understand that. Just note that her character in the game is actually skilled in Speech, in which you could put those points from Heavy Armor.

As it seems, the calculation sheet is no longer attached, probably due to the site move, but I downloaded it back then so it should still be on my comp. Check back here later.
Edit-Edit: File should be here.
You have to replace 'Breton' with your desired race, as I dont believe the dropdown menu works any longer (use Enter to apply the changes). Type in your target skill lvls in the yellow brackets. The ones to their left are the starting lvls that change with the race. Make sure to safe a clean copy to your PC first before editing the file.
Here is the text, credit to Wintermute:
The Skyrim perk calculator gives your build a value called "level required", which tells you the number of perks you've chosen in the perk trees. But what it doesn't tell you is whether, if you achieve the skill levels you've chosen, you'll actually have enough perks.
It's fairly easy to engineer a build on the calculator with a small number of perks but which requires a very high level (take the shortest path to the highest-level perk in each tree). If you have a build like this, it will actually take a very long time to fill out the build as you have to grind through skills. On the other hand, it's also possible to do the opposite and engineer a build with a much higher number of perks than levels will actually be gained (load up on low-level perks, especially those in skills you have racial bonuses in), meaning you'll have to grind through extra levels to perk out your build.
Ideally, you want your expected level based on skill experience to be fairly close to your perk level. This will allow your build to progress smoothly.
Using some formulas I found on gameskyrim.com, I was able to build a spreadsheet that will predict your build's actual level. You choose your race from a dropdown menu and add your desired skill levels in a column labeled "Target Skills". The spreadsheet will output the level you'll achieve by advancing your skills to that level as that race, and give you the number of perk points you'll have to spend (which is just your level minus one).
I hope you enjoy the sheet and find it useful. Hopefully it can be one more tool in your build arsenal. Feel free to share it!

That looks great to me Relycs. One change I would ask for is a quick swap of the four symbols. I've tried it but my paint program don't want to co operate.
Could you place the wolf symbol, (Bottom left) so it is on both the bottom left and right? Is it possible to look at this symbol in red?
Also, could you do the same with the green leaf/arrowhead symbol? Top right, so it os on the top right and left. (The same green as it is already. )
Sorry I took a while to get back to you on this. I really do appreciate your hard work in helping me with this.
Thanks.
