Decided to put the backstory for an upcoming build of mine (check it out in the Workshop here) into the RP group rather than the full build, just to keep it from being bogged down. Anyway, without further ado...

    Summary

    Name: Taninei Nisar

    Age (As of TESV): *102

    Race: Argonian

    Gender: Male

    Birthsign: The Lord.

*As disease resistant humanoid reptiles, the average lifespan for an Argonian is from 100 - 300 years.

    History/Backstory

Taninei Nisar was the child of Sraili Nisar, captain of the ship Nirn Strider. She was responsible for completing supply runs from Blackmarsh to Morrowind's South East coast during the Argonian Invasion. Despite the traditional Argonian conventions of laying a clutch of eggs by a Hist tree, she refused to let Taninei's egg leave her side. Should her supply runs fail, she wanted to see her unborn son one last time.

Unfortunatley, Taninei's egg hatched 5 days premature to when he was expected, and was stranded without a Hist tree for 3 days. Sraili did everything in her power to ensure he would survive long enough before they returned to Blackmarsh using healing magic.

Taninei spent 3 days without drinking Hist Sap, and in essence had no soul for 3 days. This is perhaps why he fights with such fury. Being stranded on the edge of death can change a man's outlook on the world. His exposure to healing magic from such a young age gave him an inborn affinity for the school of Restoration.

His mother's occupation meant that he wouldn't be able to spend any time with her, and was left in the care of Samples-The-Earth, the local alchemist and close friend of Sraili's. Taninei would often help her out, going on errands collecting ingredients and even trying out a few basic recipes himself.

The Argonian Invasion progressed for many years, and Sraili was killed when her ship was boarded by Dunmer forces. Wanting to channel his anger, Taninei was accepted into the ranks of the An-Xileel as an initiate, eventually progressing to be accepted as a fully fludged member. He fought on the frontlines with a battalion of troops that were involved in the sacking of Mournhold. In a Redoran Guard ambush, all but Taninei were slain in battle, only managing to escape by consuming an invisbility potion he had created with his alchemical prowess.

Devastated by this loss and feeling cowardly and ashamed, he sought distance from the front line fighting, sheathing his blade for the last time. He instead left mainland Blackmarsh and lived in solitude on an island on its west coast.

The Hist knew of Taninei's dragon blood and saw the coming Dragon threat in the near future, as well as the Nord Civil War. It communicated this to the Archwarrior of the An-Xileel, who sent for Taninei to be dispatched to Skyrim on false pretences, claiming that Taninei's mission would be peaceful, and that he was only to establish a small base of operations for the An-Xileel in Skyrim and keep an eye on the oncoming Civil War. The Hist took no chances in ensuring Taninei would take up arms against the dragons, and sent Alduin himself to Helgen, a small town in Skyrim where the Taninei was destined for the chopping block...

    Appearance

Skin Tone: Taninei's skin is a dark, moss green tone.

    Height: 5'8"

    Weight: 125 lbs

Gear/Equipment: As a former front line soldier, Taninei favours the use of Heavy Armour. He feels uncomfortable and vulnerable in Light Armour or Clothes, a mindset drilled into him from years of fighting.

He favours the use of One Handed weaponry, particularly the use of Akaviri Katanas, favouring speed and damage over defense.

Taninei is comfortable using ranged weaponry, and is particularly fascinated by Crossbow designs.

Years of alchemy practice during his earlier years grants him a particular appreciation for the yields of land, making use of potions and poisons to keep himself alive and prepared to fight.

    Other Information

Birthplace: The ship Nirn Strider on its return run from Morrowind's South East coast.

Education: Taninei was homeschooled by Samples-The-Earth, the alchemist in his local village. She taught him in the art of Alchemy, as well as other standard education like writing and culture.

Family: Taninei never knew his father, and with his mother dead for many years now, he has no biological family left. Samples-The-Earth is his only loved one that still walks Nirn, although by the time of TESV, she is old and frail, and leagues away in Blackmarsh.

Hobbies: He has no hobbies, aside from Alchemy, which has progressed into a profession rather than a hobby at this point.

Flaws: Taninei's near death experience at the start of his life has left him without fear of death, which in turn forces him to fight against incredible odds and seek challenge in life. He is haunted by the demise of his battalion and as such takes extra care to ensure the survival of his companions, being slightly too protective of his friends.

Dark Elves are among those he hates the most. He just about tolerates them in civilised situations, but any Dunmer who draws a blade against him will be sent home in a body bag.

Personality: Living with such tragic experiences leaves Taninei slow to trust, and often comes off as a bit of a jerk, but deep down, he only does this to prevent others getting close to him, so that he won't have to experience such pain again. He misses his homeland of Blackmarsh dearly, and makes his place of residence in the swampier areas of Skyrim, like Hjaalmarch.

While the Nords can be very xenophobic towards Taninei, he does harbour some respect for them, from the stories Samples-The-Earth told him of the Ebonheart pact. His teflon like attitude where he doesn't let anyone get too close to him works both ways, meaning he shrugs off the racist comments he sometimes receives.

In his mind, Argonians will always come first, hence why he sides with the Stormcloaks in the Civil War. Not because he cares much for Skyrim's independance, but because he seeks to protect those living in the Argonian Assemblage in Windhelm from Imperial invasion.

Thanks for reading! Also, shoutout to Matt Feeney, his Grigori Storm-Song profile was a great layout template :)

Looking good, Histcarp. I like how the absence of Hist Sap had a permanent effect on him, it raises the question of what Argonians in far away lands would do in this situation, which you handled well. I'm not sure if you could say Morrowind has a south western coastline, perhaps you meant Vvandenfell, the island within Morrowind?
