Werewolf Tips & Tricks?

  • October 1, 2015

Can anyone share stuff to step up werewolf gameplay? Most builds with a focus on lycantrophy use a million and one exploits to buff it up but since I use the unofficial patches it's not possible for me to do so, and I actually like to play without exploits. Sorry.

    Marked's tips:

    • Vegetable soup works well for that bit of health regen when you don't have the ring of the hunt yet. Health regen boost doesn't stack without unofficial patches!
    • Dragon aspect lasts long and gives useful buffs
    • Blessing of arkay or kynareth are useful to increase health or stamina in werewolf form
    • Ring of the hunt is VERY useful. It actually sets HealRate above default. I really recommend using the lady stone in synergy with it. Read more at http://tamrielvault.com/group/glitches/forum/topics/let-s-investigate-the-ring-of-the-hunt
    • Lady stone's health regen boost doesn't work without ring of the hunt. Use the lord stone instead, or maybe atronach.
    • Some potion effects are useful for werewolf form but don't last very long. I really recommend health regen potions for their 300 second duration, but they only work with ring of the hunt. Fortify health potions are good too, but only when made with a giant's toe, for the 300 second duration.
    • Histskin does work because it affects HealRate!
    • Adrenaline Rush and Berserker Rage are good racial powers for werewolf form aswell (Dragonskin not so much) but don't last long
    • Flesh spells can be made very long using dual-casting, stability, fortify alteration potions and shalidor's insight: alteration. Otherwise, they're not too useful
    • Cloak spells are useful, but don't last too long either. Frost cloak recommended!
    • Feeding on someone with the ring of namira before activating beast for gives a good health and health regen boost. Once again, health regen is only gonna work with ring of the hunt.
    • Become ethereal or slow time are good shouts to use before transformating. Become ethereal is obvious, and slow time doens't slow the player down as much as everything else is slowed down (that is quite a mouthful), which makes it harder for people to damage you during your transformation. With dragon aspect, stability, fortify alteration potions and shalidor's insight: alteration slow time will also carry over for a good bit while still in werewolf form. Like ring of instinct, but better.
    • Some perks work in werewolf form. Obviously, atronach and magic resistance work, but also restoration's avoid death!

    Share yours!

If you have any plans to use mods, I'd recommend Moonlight Tales - Werewolf & Werebear Overhaul or  Moonlight Tales - Werewolf & Werebear Essentials . There's also a nice list of even more werewolf mods at the bottom of the Moonlight Tales page. :)

Becoming a werewolf also changes your race. I use it to temporarily negate Bosmer/Redguard poison resistance and let some minions hit me with weakness to poison and fortify enchanting poisons (and loop it twice with necromage vampirism in between) to make some of the most powerful non-exploit gear in the game.

Ah yes, I saw your post about injecting potions directly into the bloodstream. Pure genius!

It's worth noting that Beast Form resets racial powers which can lead to some serious synergy between the Ring of Hircine and racial based fighting styles. A good example of this is the Bloodclaw which uses Beast Form for an "oh shig" button, boss killer, and passive form of restoring Histskin. Given this fact, as an argonian you can always have insane healing rates on a werewolf by using Histskin and using the Cursed Ring of Hircine Glitch to forcibly imprint the Ring of the Hunt script on your character.

Hello! Bloodbane here with something to add! (take note, I usually only work with Necromage Vampirism, but I have done some werewolf work in the past.

Talk to a follower before you transform. Equip the Ring of Namira and Ring of the Hunt and have the Lady Stone. When you feed, you should reach an above-normal health regen.

If you are a Orc and use your racial effect Then you can turn into a werewolf and do tons of damage you may want to get all the perks in the werewolf tree you need dawnguard for this Then you need the werewolf rings like the ring of Hircine if you have the dragonborn DLC you can get the ring of the beast which increases damage and take half Damage you can also combo as a werewolf and everytime you level as a werewolf you can 50 armor per level for werewolf form and if you want more you can use ebonyflesh or the dragon ascpet shout one more thing you should use the Lord stone which gives you 50 armor one more trick if you use ebonyflesh before using the dragon ascpet shout you will have more armor then use the dragon ascpet shout afterwords you will have 100+ armor.
