    Trigger Warning: Wall of Text.

Hello all.  Relatively new member here and this is my first post of any substance.  I apologize if the technique that I am about to outline has been posted already.  (If it is, I haven't read it, though I haven't read all this leveling posts, so.)

This guide is how to level a mage to 100 conjuration, illusion, restoration, and alteration, and destruction to whatever you have the patience for swiftly.

    1) Out of the gate make sure you grab the Frost Mirram hanging in the Old Storeroom in Helgen Keep and then you'll want to obtain the following spells: Muffle, Oakflesh, Fire and Frost runes, Conjure Flame Atronach, Frostbite, and Soul Trap.

    2) Get Atronach Stone blessing.

    3) Head east from the Stone and pick up the mammoth tusk from the dead mammoth that is laying in the water not too far away.  Mind the giant, please.

    4) Do Azura's Star quest.  (Optional, actually, but in Illinalta's Deep you can gather 2 ruined books and a Frost Salts you will want later and it provides some basic leveling which is needful)

    5) Head to Treva's Watch and do the Infiltration quest.  (Target here is the Detect Life spell)

    6) You will want to have selected Novice Restoration,  Regeneration, and Novice Destruction at this point.

    7) Run to Shearpoint and kill Krosis.  (Mask and Staff are the targets here)  With the Atro stone the fight even at low level requires you merely to pay attention to you health as you cast Flames with one hand, Healing with the other and hug his Frost Cloak to keep your magicka regenerating as quickly as possible.  He will always summon a Frost Atronach upon awakening and that should be killed first.  If one's health becomes dangerously low during the fight use a potion or temporarily switch the Flames hand to a second Healing spell until the danger has passed.

    8) Obtain a Deathbell flower and an Ice Wolf pelt.  Deathbell is all over Hjaalmarch and an Ice Wolf should spawn fairly early just down the road from Winterhold.  Or you can buy one from a merchant.  Using the beat, reload, and repeat technique to get it if you must.

    9) Go to the College of Winterhold and take the grand tour.  Grab the Void Salts in your room and head down to the Midden to use the Atronach Forge.  Deathbell, Void Salts, a Ruined Book, and a Mammoth tusk will get you the Storm Atronach Summon and Ice Wolf Pelt, Frost Mirram, Ruined Book, and Frost Salts gets you the Frost Atro.

    10) Head to Raldbthar.  Get comfy (You're going to be here a hot minute.)

    11) As you enter there is a Bandit sleeping on a pallet.  Allow him to stand up and then kill him (or her) and drag the body into the nearby constant fire trap.

    11) In one hand have Healing equipped and with the other cast Soul Trap and then Muffle a few hundred times or however many times is required to get Illusion and Conjuration to the level you want it.

    12) Think of a movie you'd like to watch. (I recommend Big Trouble in Little China, but that's just me.)

    13) Put Detect Life in your non-Healing hand rig your keyboard/controller to keep them both active and go watch that movie.  (Or call your Mom, she misses you and thinks you spend too much time playing video games, just humor her, OK?)  There should be three bandits in the rooms nearby for your Detect Life spell to hit.  (You didn't kill them, right?)

    14) Occasionally pause your movie and check your skill levels quitting when you max out or have hit the levels you want.

    15) Get the Mage Stone blessing.

    16) Equip Conjure Flame Atronach in your right hand and set up Frost Rune and Frostbite as hot buttons on your left.  Conjure the Atro, place a Frost Rune under it and then detonate the rune with Frostbite. Repeat this until you either hit the level you want (optimal) or just can't stand the tedium any longer (what typically happens to me.)

    17) Pat yourself on the back.  You have fairly rapidly opened up all of the casting skills and have twin potent atronachs, a Staff of Fireballs, and Azura's Star to keep you alive until you can get the money to fill the holes in your spell and equipment inventories that this power-leveling has created.

    18) Have fun.

Well, that's my first real post.  I hope that it helps someone, somewhere, as my way of repaying all the help that this blog has provided to me.

    Cheers!

Additional Trigger Warning: Computer Illiterate Poster.

This so was supposed to be posted in the Leveling area. I place total blame on my cat and he has not even bothered to deny it. Could someone please move this for me? All apologies. Also I would recommend that one take a break in leveling after 65 Restoration is hit to get the Circle of Protection spell, which makes things go much quicker. Additionally it is faster to level Alteration in Riften or someplace like it, of course.  The technique I describe is for doing it without paying attention.  One could easily just do it for as long as it takes Restoration to hit 65 and then while you finish it off with CoP, afterwards going to Riften to finish Alteration.  (Hope that makes sense. :/ )

I should also point out that the whole gist of this guide is to use the power of the Atronach stone to supply unlimited magicka to be used in place of waiting or skill buffs to achieve the same effect.  But you probably didn't really need me to point that out.  :)

To place this in the "Guides" section you just have to tag it properly. Your tag should read "Tips and Tricks Guides" with the quotations included. I'll go ahead and change it for ya.

"Quick-ish" is right! A bit long-winded but it'll definitely make you powerful after the initial effort. I feel like there aren't too many power levelers out there but a good guide nonetheless. Thanks for the contribution Nazdrakke!

Thanks much for the relocation.  Sorry about my computer ineptitude.

As far as it goes there is no reason that someone has to max out using it.  It's really just the GP leveling technique I typically us for hitting certain levels for perks or quickly catching lagging magic skills, but on steroids. One could easily use it to hit 25 or 50 on everything to get started fast (my most normal use for it) instead of going all out.  I just like it 'cuz it's both flexible and simple.

Addendum: I must have been seeing things, because I was mistaken about the number of targets that the Detect Life spell hits in Raldbthar.  Paying closer attention this time I saw that it actually only hits one target unless you have alerted the other two bandits in the nearby room.  I apologize for the mistake.
