I think I'm gonna go with a human(or an Imperial, whatever the hell it's called). Why? I don't know exactly. I want my guy just to be a normal guy for my first playthrough, but I'm not so sure...yet.

Shield in left hand, (destruction) spell in right hand. I also want my character to wear light armor. That being said, the Dunmer race is perfect for me. They have a +10 bonus to their destruction skill, a +5 bonus to their light armor skill, 50% fire resistance for those pesky lower level dragons , they start with an extra destruction spell "spark", and on top of that they have a once-a-day power to make some sort of fire vortex that does 8 points of damage a second to enemies that get too close. I'm going to be one though Dunmer. As soon as my character gets a shield I'm going to practice my block and restoration skills like crazy... just stand there with my shield and get pounded on. Heal when necessary. Rinse and repeat. less
My first character will be a Nord, because they are epic vikings! I may create another character and go with Argonian simply because they look amazing!

Also I planned to make my first character an archer so I can test out the revamped archery skill in Skyrim so what better choice than a wood elf.
My second character is going to be a Redguard because once again it was a race that I never really thought was that important because Imperials were better human players and Nords were better warriors. But now they have been redone for Skyrim and look amazing.
Most of my characters after that will be Nords because they were my favourite race in Oblivion and Skyrim is home of the Nords. less
Khajitt because I always wanted to play the beast races and now with their amazing look I can't help but to play them! Nord to be honest will most likely be the last race I play because I am not too keen on humans (to normal) but also I like to play as a minority.

I intend on playing through this game as each of the beast classes at some point as well.
I'm going to play a Imperial pure mage. I like the way the imperials look in this game I usually always play as an Argonian, but this time around I would like to play something different.
