I'm gonna go the my usual anti-hero kind of character, a tough Nord who's got a good but heavy heart, he'll help you but don't push him either.

Play the good guy and help people.  Might get too caught up in side quests, but we will see how it goes.

I always go with the good guy first, then on my second playthrough with an argonian, I won't be so good.

Depends what character, but with my first one, good. Saintly, almost. Then I can explore darker paths with other characters. That way I can get the most out of the game, as I always like to explore multiple options.

A total Saint until someone annoys me then the halo might slip.
