The tale of Ser Katan part 1-Introduction

  • So before I continue with the actual story this entire blog is just a running story of my time in Skyrim, playing as an Nord also my English typing isn't that great so if I get something wrong and you feel the need to correct me please do so politely. :D

After hearing about the civil war between your old friend Ulfric Stormcloak and the Imperial legion you decide to venture back to Skyrim to help free Skyrim from the treacherous empire and destroy the Aldermeri Dominion for enslaving your fellow Nords.

On the way to home you find Ulfric being escorted back across the border with his personal guard, in a split moment chaos ensues and the Imperials and their elven dogs rain a barrage of arrows and magic: slaughtering most of the guards Ulfric and his guards are captured and at that moment a scraggly young man riding a horse faster than an arrow whistles past stumbling you and and a stormcloak lieutenant, a second later another set of arrows fly through the air butchering the horse and bringing the rider to the ground with a thunderous crash. The imperials quickly bound him up and drag him towards you, they load you into a cart and rise off, knowing that the ride will be long and tiresome you decide to fall asleep.

After coming to a bumpy road you can't help but wake from your slumber, a stormcloak lieutenant named Ralof, he greets you in a friendly manner and simply states what happened to you, just in case you forgot whilst sleeping. After looking around you find that you have been placed in the same wagon as your friend Ulfric and the scraggly horse thief. The wagon continues down the road and you come across Helgen, a simple town occupied by the Imperials and a home base for the Aldermeri Dominion's movement across Skyrim, Rogvir comments on how the walls and towers used to make him feel safe and as you listen to him describing his past the wagon pulls up to a halt and you realize that you may not be able to help in the war after all.

They unload you off the wagons, three in total yours being the most different: in front of you is a high ranking Imperial officer and some lowly soldier, you've heard of him though, he shows great promise for the Imperial legion and is supposedly "destined" for great things in the army, they take your names and check them off their damned list, the horse thief "Lokir" attempted to escape thinking he could outrun on foot that which he couldn't outrun on horse, you watch him get slaughtered by a arrow barrage, similar to that which you saw earlier, the archer who placed the final arrow, the one that hit straight into his spine grins with glee, admiring the quick kill he pulled of after being injured during the ambush.

The high ranking officer mocks him in death asking if anyone else felt like running, Hadvar quickly interrupts before you get a chance to respond, it seems that you're nobody to these damned Imperials and they don't even recognize that you're a hero from the great war, you tell them your name yet even then they don't recognize you. After swearing vengeance on the imperials they lead you to the others.

The high ranking Imperial officer first orders the execution of a fearless Stormcloak, they waste no time after being interrupted during the last rites they clearly despise the Stormcloaks more.

The next on the list is you, a noble war hero about to be put to death by a headsman's axe. You walk forward, scared yet brave knowing that the gods would not let you die unless it was meant to be, Talos preserve you.

As the headsman readies himself a horrific roar is heard, some of the Imperials start to feel uneasy, fearing the worst is about to come. As the headsman readies his mighty axe you see it shine and glimmer in the sunlight, you take one last look at the place you called home and curse the Imperials for surrendering to the elves, you close your eyes and accept your fate, you wait for what seems like an eternity, listening to the distinct whistle the headsman's axe makes whilst swinging.

    Nothing.

You open your eyes and a mighty beast, as large as the sky itself swoops down and perches itself onto the watchtower, with a thunderous roar the beast summons forth a hail of meteors and calls upon the sky itself bring about a great storm, you quickly decide that the best course of action would be to escape whilst you can, you follow Ralof into the nearby tower, Ulfric is there and you feel overwhelmed that your old friend is safe and alive, you slowly make your way up the tower, after seeing a Stormcloak moving some rocks around you go to help but the dragon, with a might crash forces his way into the tower and incinerates the Stormcloak, you quickly take a leap of faith out of the tower into the nearby building, you burn your leg but the wound is only minor, you quickly leave the building and stumble onto the street.

You run into Hadvar and a few citizens and after avoiding another fatal attack from the dragon you proceed towards the main gate, after being shaken around from the force of the dragon landing and swooping close overhead you make it into the main entrance, where General Tulius orders everyone into the keep, you run, faster than you can imagine and you eventually need to make a decision, run with your fellow Stormcloaks or attempt to survive with the Imperial legion.

But that is a decision for another day.

    Writers notes.

So what did you think, I kinda thought it was a little long but I wanted to get as much detail in as I possibly could whilst still sticking with the main story.

I also know a few things are slightly false e.x you can't close your eyes during the execution but I thought it was a nice touch, I'll also try to release a new chapter every day or two but I do have school work to do so if I don't get one out then it will probably be because of school. anywho, thank you for reading and please leave any comments and feedback in the comments/message section below. thank you. :D
