Which system are you getting Skyrim for?

  • Hey everyone!

I was wondering what system you guys consider to be the best for playing the upcoming Elder Scrolls game on. I have predominantly played on the PC, but when I found the Oblivion PS3 GOTY edition, I couldn't resist reliving my old Oblivion thrill days.

The gamepad took some getting used to, but the experience on a bigger monitor and my gaming chair made it comparable to the PC even though it lacked the graphical things I loved so much.

Considering that my PC may not run Skyrim at the capacity it deserves, I am deciding between which console to get it on. I wonder how the control scheme will come in to play, do you guys prefer the triggers of the 360 controller, or the classic feel of the Dualshock 3?

I am looking forward to everyone's input!

    ~John

I just built a PC last summer (named it Nerevar) so I'm definitely going to be putting that to use. PC for me. Although I might have to buy the XBox version also so I can play it while home from my winter break... hm....

I am forced to buy 2 versions of the game. I urged my (at the time) non-gamer girlfriend to play Oblivion.. She did. Being able to create a female character  had her liking it at first, but I think the ease of you dont have to do anything, just have fun, ...  more

PC is more able to handle the advanced graphics of Skyrim, and thus a more enjoyable experience.

@Chris, I don't know if that system has a PCI x16 slot in it, but you can buy a used GTX260 on Amazon for $80.00 USD (or could a few minutes before I posted this )  Your CPU would be a serious bottleneck but it might be able to play.

I was considering getting it on PS3, purely down to the system specs of my PC. But since those were revealed I figured my poor old beast would be able to acheive mid level detail, which is good enough for me....also i feel like i need to play with a mouse...  more

I can just imagine my computer raising its metaphorical eyebrows at me and wondering what it should do with this piece of plastic I put into it. So PS3 it is then.
