The second I heard that Skyrim was going to have crafting and jobs, I just knew I'd spend hours and hours cutting trees, chipping away at ore, or hunting for pelts.
When I heard Skyrim was going to have farming, however, I just about fainted!
Now I, for one, think that farming is a great addition to the game. I remember back in Oblivion my thief character would sneak onto farmsteads in the middle of the night and pilfer every single last watermelon, carrot, and husk of corn before dashing away back into the darkness. Somewhere in the midst of stealing vegetables and arranging them in baskets in my house in Bruma, I thought of something - why can't I plant my own veggies? NPCs can do it, but no, I was forced to steal food. (Oh, who am I kidding - I loved every second of it.)
My question to y'all is this: how do you think farming will be implemented in Skyrim? What kind of features do you think we'll see?
Personally, I'm hoping for any of the following:
1. the ability to watch your plants grow, from seed to mature plant.
2. the ability to turn a profit from your veggies (or animals? cows and sheep anyone?!) by selling them or trading them for goods.
3. the ability to grow rare plants from rare seeds, perhaps purchased or found (or stolen, heh heh) from somewhere in the world.
4. the ability to collect not just produce from plants, but seeds as well for planting.
5. the ability to store or otherwise display the fruits of your labour in your home, without having to move each and every single item.
Those are my thoughts... what are yours?

I hope you can purchase a home near a farmstead, and you can decide what you want to grow there. As a twist of fate, I wonder if your farm is occassinally raided by thieves in the night, forcing you to hire guard... more
Heck yeah! Everyone knows veggies from Dovahfarm Inc. taste better!
Ha! You wouldn't believe the amount of times I got caught by guards and farmers.... it was hilarious, they'd take me in, frisk me down, and I'd break out of jail 50 pounds lighter than I went in! How's that for a weight loss program?
Just kidding.
