Has anyone thought of maybe making a character for Skyrim as descendant of a character you made in Oblivion? Being in jail would run in the family. hahaha I'd love to hear everyones idea's and how this may or may not effect how you will play!
Arthur, that is pretty amazing that we had a similar idea...for my character, Martin was one of the few people that she felt close to, due to all they went through together and who also truly understood what was at stake in the crisis. I would love to read your in-game journal, so if you are posting it, please let me know!

I doubt it will affect how I will play as I certainly have no desire to atone for the crimes of my ancestor, and it matters not that, in the 200 years since, my family has spent generations trying to fit back into society - a waste of breath, Tamriel never wanted us why should I care the pathetic Nords are being terrorized by dragons. Now where's that Skooma...
I think it would be cool to do that, since I was to lazy to come up with cool names for Oblivion. Im surely going to keep family names going into future Skyrims well if the race has a family name of course.
I'm not sure I can answer this without giving away spoilers from my character's backstory/in-game journal-to-be, but since the chance of anyone caring about that is pretty slim - yes, totally. Though I'm playing it off as quite a minor thing, something she may never in fact become aware of. But it'll be there, in the shadows, where all the prophetic murmurings originate from.
Fun fact: in the playground of my mind, my Champion had a pseudo-romance with Martin Septim that evolved into the deepest friendship and respect, and culminated in her enshrining her blade within the temple, forever placed before his statue. A friend loaded my saved game once and MOVED IT and I could've punched them! Hooray for crazy emotional attachments to video games.
A massive downside of this is that I CAN'T get into the main quest properly on the replay I've been attempting during the last week or so. I'm trying, but it just doesn't mean as much to this new character. Sadness. less

I have this whole story in my head, and will have to type it out to explain, but I felt the need for continuity between the last adventure and this one. It is a continuation of the emotional investment that I made in my character in Oblivion, I think.
I guess that really depends on if yourchar was an elf or human... b/c if human you couldn't meet him... but could be descended from him... if elf, it could actually be the SAME person b/c of life span... right? or am i wrong on age length for elder scroll elves?
