Fawn's Journal; Entry #9

  • I. Am. Dragonborn.

It seems that you cannot avoid fate. And the world truly needs me.

While walking around town selling my spoils and restocking, I heard that a bounty was up for anyone willing to slay a dragon in its mountain lair just west from Riften. There and then I dismissed the thought. But later I remembered the little boy running in fear from the dragon’s flames.

I was still nervous to climb up a mountain to slay a dragon but while hunting today I just could not leave it out of mind. So finally, late afternoon I seized up all of my courage and got myself to the dragon’s lair.

As I walked around the burned down shacks I saw a similar wall with runes on it as in Bleakfalls Barrow. What I did not see was the stone scaled dragon that was napping on the curved wall structure until it flapped its gigantic wings, knocking me over.

I lifted my bow to the skies firing more arrows per second than I have ever shot before. I was running from shack to rock to avoid the dragons fiery breath! But I did it! I killed the lizard!

I continued hunting after that exhilarated. There were a lot of deer and they were fat too. I assume the Divines are pleased with my actions. Also I whispered the word Laas and for a couple seconds I can see the auras of everything living around me. Damn useful for hunting. It is late. Tomorrow morning I am packing my camp and first handing in the bounty then heading off to Ivarstead to meet these Greybeards. I guess I am Dragonborn after all.

I hope you enjoyed the story, comments would be appreciated.
