Friessa - The Meeting In Morthal

  • Two Birds In One Stone

Yes! I met him! Dreas' friend! His name is Falion, I can't contain my excitment, I'll get to it later though.

As Bjorlam dropped me off in Morthal I saw a gathering outside a large hall, presumably where the Jarl resides. I listened in on the conversation, well more like an argument. They were complaining about a new wizard in town, they seemed like a bunch of short-sited Nords... Just like father.

I enquired to the one who was being shouted at once those... Bone-heads, had left him be. Aslfur was his name, he told me he was the steward to the Jarl who was also his wife. He explained the problem to me, this new wizard, Falion, had been sturring up some trouble, or at least in the minds of the other occupants of Morthal. I asked him if there was anything interesting in town and her pointed me towards the Thaumaturgist's Hut, the alchemists. I knocked on the door and entered, the proprietor, Lami was a sweet lady. She gave me several ingredients to try out and was impressed with the potion I made, she asked me where I learnt my skills and I told her about Dreas teaching me back in Bruma and Arcadia teaching me the basics of Skyrim's ingredients. She told me that Arcadia was an old friend of hers and that they grew up together and wasn't surprised that she had taught me. We conversed about potions and her lack of ingredients. I then went to rest in the local inn. There was an Orismer bard who just would not shut up!

Today is the day I meet Falion! I knock on his door at the civil time of noon and he answered, ranted at me and shut the door in my face, I was highly perplexed. I waited a few minutes and knocked again. He stared and at me at said in a huff "what do you want?" I know Dreas is what I replied and he seemed extremely apologetic and invited me in offering me some Alto wine, I declined and we talked about how Dreas was. He then asked me why I was here and I told him I was seeking out training in conjuration, he was ecstatic to have someone else to train, he had a small adopted daughter called Agni.

Falion first trained me how to conjure my sword up with ease, after several days of practicing this was no problem. Next he taught me how to conjure up weak Daedra, I now understand why Dreas told me Falion was like me, I know that the art of conjuration is highly shunned upon in the culture of the Redguards, of which Falion was. After several days I could conjure a Daedra for several minutes with little focus needed. He taught me several tricks to strengthen my Daedra which would make my fights easier he said. He then asked me if there was anything else I wished to learn, I told him about my training with Faendal and how the bow was far to heavy for me. He taught me something of beauty, to summon a bow into your hands, it reminded me of Dreas' stories of Morrowind. I practiced this for several weaks so I could fully master this art. Falion asked a favour of me, I was to gain the trust of the Jarl and persuade the people of Morthal that he was not a bad man, which he was not. I saw Lami and borrowed some of her ingredients to make some potions that could enhance my abilities with a bow and made a few that would toughen up my skin. Off to see the Jarl.
