Don't Mess with My Clannfear - A brief, but (slightly) humorous ES tale.

  • Back when I was playing Oblivion, I had an Argonion that was a mage, “She-who-cast-spells”. I would often refer to her as my wizard-lizard.  I had worked out a combination of conjuration magic, along with stealth that was making her quite formidable.

I realized that once my conjuration made it to expert (75), then I would become quite powerful, indeed.  Why?  Summon Clannfear.   I was quite excited when my conjuration hit 75, and putting everything else aside, I headed straight to the mage’s hall in Chorrol.

Once inside, I purchased said spell, and decided to cast it straight away, just to see.  The instant I cast the spell, the newly summoned creature turned and attacked – slightly to my right rear.  As soon as this happened, all the mages began casting spells.  My first thought was “Oh no, the game glitched, my stupid clannfear just started attacking my friends at the mages guild.”  I was thankful that the game had recently autosaved.  But the fighting stopped as soon as it had begun.  On the ground, lay the body of Avidius – a corrupt watchman that I had previously turned over to the authorities.  He had recently escaped and tracked me down, in an attempt to kill me, but had been dispatched by my clannfear, before he could even strike a blow.  I had known that a clannfear was going to be awesome - I just didn't realize it was going to be that awesome.

Do you have a funny or interesting ES tale that you want to share?  Put it in a blog post, and place the link in the comments below, or just simply post it below.  And here is a link to my other blog post - it's about how my orsimer-mage ends up imprioned.  http://theskyrimblog.ning.com/profiles/blogs/imprisonment-of-gaz-gro-shurgak

That guy attacked me too, only it was in an oblivion gate. I was on a bridge and was so surprised I fell off. Clannfears were ridiculously awesome in Oblivion, I can see you have great wisdom. Maybe they will return in Skyrim?

I haven't done this yet, but it's the next thing I intend to do:  I want to use Wabbajack to kill the Underking.  I think that'll be a hoot.  I'll let you know how it goes.

That was awesome!  Thanks for sharing that.  I'm not sure I can match it, but here's a story.
When we first got Oblivion, we became curious to see if we could start a barroom brawl.  We went into the sailor's bar on the waterfront, put away all weap...  more
