Skyrim through Steam actually coming Nov 10th for some

    This is no lie. For some of you the wait for Skyrim just got a little bit shorter. Check out your steam accounts and read this article. 

    "I dropped Hines an email just to be sure, and he confirmed as much: The company's working to make Skyrim unlock on Steam nationwide at 12:01 a.m ET rather than at each time zone's local time."

    @Soleiya A big part of the reason I pre-ordered it was for the cloth-like map:), I am also a huge fan of having hard copy stuff.

    Yeah, I've got the 360 version already pre-ordered and will be anxiously awaiting it on the 11th.

    That's the wonderful thing about the modern gaming industry.  There are so many different ways for each person to get what they want and how they want it.  In the end, we're all just finding our own path to the same destination, which is Skyrim!

    While I have no problem with buying games through Steam, for something as special as The Elder Scrolls, I prefer to have a hard-copy disc with the original booklet, etc., etc.  So while it is definitely tempting to get the game at 11pm local time, I'll wa...  more

    Well, the good news there is, that its still an unlock time, so if you already have your physical copy and its installed you can still unlock it at the earlier time through Steamworks.  95% of all Steam downloaders will already have the game installed to ...  more

    Thats good if its true, i doubt too many people here are getting it from steam anyway, price is $30-40 more than the physical copy from a store. The joys of living at the bottom of the world.

    The way I read Hine's blog, it sounds more like they will unlock the most eastern time zones for a country / continent at 12:01, and everyone else in that geographic location will unlock at the same time, even if its several hours earlier.

    thats good for you guys, haha i love how australasia is considered one big time zone, im picking up my copy during the day on friday, but for those new zealanders getting their copy from steam may be waiting til 2 or 3 am before it unlocks. i could be wro...  more
