"Skyrim Tops New Measure Of 'Franchise Engagement' Among Gamers"
I just read this article about a company that does market research. They did a survey of gamers asking about awareness of games and then their intent to buy them.
"While only 19.2 percent of those in the study said they were aware of Skyrim -- well below the rate for many other major franchises -- a full 56 percent of those with knowledge of the game said they were going to purchase it, a ratio larger than any other title in the study."
So, I find that first percentage pretty surprising. Am I the only one who thought EVERYone, at least every gamer, knew about Skyrim? The second statistic definitely makes sense though. The Elder Scrolls series has some of the most dedicated fans out there. Also, apparently most of those who are going to buy the Elder Scrolls are between the ages of 18 and 34.Â
Anyway, just thought I would share this in case you guys were interested. There are more statistics on the site for other franchises and their most recent games.Â
