The Rogue Elf: Chapter 2: The Woman

  • Time for part two in my series! Hope you like it!

"DRAGON!!!", someone yelled, I quickly drew my bow and readied an arrow. But before I could shoot Faendal put his hand on my shoulder. I looked at him as he shook his head.

"If I don't fight all these people will die!", I told Faendal.

"If you do fight then you will die and it won't make a difference to all these people, they will die anyway!".

I tried to deny it by I knew he was right. I put my bow on my shoulder and I went through the woods with Faendal, towards Riverwood. We were making good time until we saw a pack of wolves in a field.

"Okay this is what happens", I said, "I'll take the two on the left you take the one on the right".

Faendal agreed and we took aim.

    "On me", I whispered, "One...Two...Three...now!".

I took out the first wolf with ease, and I saw Faendal do the same. When I pulled back my bowstring to fire again I realized the wolf moved. I scanned the field, looking for the wolf. I guessed that it had run off when, suddenly, I was tackled to the ground. I felt claws digging into my chest and sharp teeth dig into my throat. I tried to push the wolf off of me but it overpowered me. I called out to Faendal to help but before I could finish the sentence I blacked out.

I awoke in a dark room. My chest felt sore and when I looked around I felt a sharp pain in my neck. I couldn't do anything but sleep, so I did. I opened my eyes to blackness. I realized I was blindfolded and tied up.

    "Where's Faendal", I demanded.

"Shhh", the voice whispered, "Your friend is safe, though he is not here with us".

The person had a very feminine voice, "Where is he", I said again sharply.

"He is safe at his home in Riverwood now I suggest you close your mouth and let me explain what happened!", he hissed.

I glared at the the person but decided to listen.

"You were attacked by wolves in the valley, you were lucky I stumbled upon you while I was tracking a deer. I brought you here so I could heal you in a safe environment. As for you friend", the person continued, "He was long gone by the time I found you. I could see his tracks".

"That doesn't sound like the elf I know", I said in disbelief.

    "Oh but it is".

When I realized the person was most likely a woman I relaxed a bit. No way a woman could defeat a strong Wood Elf like me, I thought to myself. After all, the woman probably had a husband waiting somewhere.

"Is there a man I can speak to?", I asked with a mocking tone.

"No, just me", the woman said with venom in her tongue.

I became irritated and started asking questions after that.

"Why am I blindfolded?", I started out with.

"Because I didn't know if I could trust you. I don't just give away my identity like that", she snapped her fingers for extra affect.

"I won't hurt you if you untie me ", I said convincingly.

"That's not what i'm worried about", is all she said.

I decided to ask one more question before I gave up.

"What do you want with me?".

"I simply wanted to heal you and get you away from me forever", she replied.

"But why go through all this trouble?".

She sighed and said, "Alright fine, I'll tell you".

I waited for her to say something. But before she started talking she removed my blindfold. She still left me tied up though. What I saw amazed me.

I was looking at the most beautiful Wood Elf I had ever seen. There was a certain glow to her that I couldn't comprehend. I just stared at her for awhile before she said anything.

"What are you staring at?", she asked.

I was too surprised at her natural beauty I couldn't speak. She had perfect light brown hair, the most beautiful blue eyes I had ever seen, the most amazing face, to put it shortly.

"Hey", she snapped her fingers, "My face is up here".

When I realized what I was doing I felt my face get hot and I quickly looked away. I muttered "Sorry", after that.

"Why is a woman like yourself doing out here all alone?", I asked, my face still hot.

"Time to give you my story", she said, "When I was a little girl my parents were taken from me by a pack of savage wolves, and while they were being ripped apart I was hiding in the attic. When the wolves left I went downstairs to the most horrid sight I have ever seen. My parent's body parts where thrown all over the room, their bodies lay in an ocean of blood. I cried for days after that. I got a note from the Jarl saying that I had to go to Honorhall Orphanage. I ran away after that. I knew how to use a bow and hunt. The sad thing is, I was only 6.

"That's so sad", I said with tears in my eyes, "I guess I should tell you my story now".

"You don't have to do that", she said.

"When I was just a small boy my parent's left each other. I was forced to live with my father until I turned 18. When mother left he started drinking. He'd come home each night and beat me for hiding from him. He always found me but I had to try. He left me with scars and blood on me every night. My brother got to  go with my mother who was one of the nicest people I've ever met. When I was about 16 I ran away. I went to Riverwood where I met an Elf named Faendal. He told me that I looked like someone he knew so he told me to go to a hut just outside of Helgen. When I got there I looked inside the window and saw the face of somebody that I grew up with. I kicked open the door, ran inside, and hugged my older brother. We lived together forever until the night before you found me. I had shot and killed him with my bow while we were hunting. I had buried him in a grave that I had made and went to Faendal. After that I pretty much ended up here".

I left out the part of the dragon because I didn't completely trust her yet, even if she told me her story. I knew that we were done talking after that, so I lay back down, and went to sleep
