The Journal of an Argonian Thief Part 1 Chapter 5

  •      When I exited the house it was night so I wasn't burned by the sun. That didn't keep me from crying out all the tears I had in me. I started running north in the direction of Skyrim. I was in the woods fairly fast. I was getting very cold and was feeling sick. I guessed it was the side-effects of being a vampire. I decided that I would let it go until the disease got very bad. I knew that I had to go hunting for food but quickly realized I still had rabbit in my pack that was probably still good...I hoped. I gathered leaves and twigs and set up my fire for the night. I finished the one rabbit rather quickly so I took the other rabbit out and set it on the fire to cook. I take it off after several minutes and set it down on some leaves to eat for tomorrow. I was so tired I didn't feel like crafting a bed so I lay my head on my pack and sleep. When I wake up I find that my fire is out and my rabbit gone. Now I have to hunt some more later today. I grab my supplies and head north to Skyrim. About five minutes later a pack of wolves attacked me. I shot one with an arrow and quickly sheathed my bow. I pulled my dagger and sword out and killed the other two quickly. I continued my journey for what seemed like two hours, judging by the sun's position, before I saw it. It was a large hairy beast that was roughly 5 times my size. I saw it's long sharp yellow teeth. A werewolf was no less the five feet away from me. I stopped immediately and quietly drew my sword and dagger in self defense. I started to back up slowly when I heard what sounded like a battle cry. Suddenly a Nord man slammed his large war-hammer into the beast's head. The beast was knocked down by the blow but quickly got up to see me. Before the man could get another hit the werewolf was upon me. It was trying to rip out my throat by I managed to hold it off by slicing away at it's hands. Then the beast struck my leg with it's large claws. I yelled out in pain. The man with the war-hammer ran in and slammed it into the beast's skull killing it instantly. He helped me up and tied a cloth around my wound. I hope he didn't notice my fangs. "My name's Roggard your's?", he said in a thick Nordic accent. "Rakhem", I said. I figured I could trust him based off the fact he saved my life from a rabbit werewolf. "Why'd you save me Roggard when you could've easily ran off?" "Well I don't enjoy watching children die by the hand of a werewolf and the fact is I like fighting", he said with a smile on his face. "Well thanks Roggard but I need to get to Skyrim". "Skyrim eh, he started, I could take you there". I smiled and said "Okay let's start off then". Just as we were about to head off I heard a familiar voice. "Rakhem wait!", said the voice of Nakuma. I turned and hugged her tightly. "Nakuma what are you doing here?", I asked frantically. "I ran away from home so I could be with you". She said slightly blushing. " 'Ey who's this lovely young lady?", Roggard asked. "Her name's Nakuma she's my well...girlfriend". I said sheepishly. "Heeeey good job kiddo", Roggard said. "She's a lovely young lady", Roggard finished with a smile. "Keep your hands off of her Roggard", I said firmly. "I won't touch her you have my word. Now then shall we get going?". "Let's go", I said. And we headed off. At around nighttime we set up camp and had a nice meal. "Nakuma why did you run?",I asked. "Because I wanted to be with you Rakhem". She smiled at me and shared a short kiss. "Alright then I'm all for the love but we got us a big day ahead of us so...shut up and go to sleep. When we all lay down Nakuma came into my tent and said she was scared alone so I told her to sleep with me. We kissed goodnight and fell asleep in eachother's arms. When we awake we walk outside to see Roggard packing everything up. "We have to be heading off now if we want to make it to Skyrim by sunset". "Then let's go", I reply. I whisper to Nakuma, "You ready?". "As  ready as i'll ever be.", she replies. We head off. We encounter some wolves along the way nothing big. At around noon I realize that I'm not burning in the sun. I think that I must not be a vampire anymore. But then I realized what I could be. I gulp and continue down the road.  When we get to a sign that reads "SKYRIM NEXT TRAIL ON LEFT", I let out a breath. We'll be in Skyrim soon were I can meet Ja-ree. Just as the sun begins to set I see a small city. All three of us started running towards it. We enter a town called Falkreath  and walk into an inn. "Room for three", Roggard says to the owner and hands her 10 septims. We enter the room and fall asleep on the three beds.

Your right but I see that you read the other parts of the story so I didn't intend for him to be a vampire very long

I am enjoying the tale of a world in which bad things can happen, but people can randomly be benevolent to strangers.  Rakhem has some bad experiences, not to mention the trial of being a vampire, yet he also has a lot to be grateful for, and to live for....  more

As you continue to write, you'll get to a point where you'll hold onto to a "completed" blog post but not publish it. Spend a few days sitting on it, refining it, add spacing, detail, maybe different story elements. Sometimes, you'll decide to change a se...  more
