The Journal of an Argonian Thief Part 1 Chapter 1

  •      My name is Rakhem, I was born in Black Marsh as an Argonian egg but raised as a Khajiit in Elsweyr. Everybody hated me, except my foster parents, when I was a young hatch ling. The young cats bullied me and beat me up. I hated it it there. I always went home after dusk and my foster parents told me it would be alright. They were probably the only Khajiit I liked maybe even loved...as my family. six days after that on a brisk Mondas morning a group of Orc bandits raided my village and home. They came in, shortly after my Khajiit mother told me to go hide in the attic, and murdered my foster parents. I watched from the safety of a small window in the attic facing down. My foster parents didn't even draw a weapon. After the raid I went downstairs and looked at my parents I was only 12 counting in Nord years. My foster father had sword slashes in his face and across his chest. Then I looked at my foster mother her eyes were open and she was breathing slightly. I ran to her and looked into her eyes. She spoke to me 1 sentence before she died. "Rakhem you must go to a province called Skyrim in the north,go to a city called Solitude and meet a man named Ja-ree he will take care of you. Then...she died. I cried and hugged her lifeless body. I grabbed my pack then I went downstairs into the armory and grabbed a steel sword, an elvish dagger, and an Orcish Bow. I grabbed 15 elvish arrows and shoved them in a quiver. And I also found a map and shoved it in my pack. I went outside and I ran.

I ran into the forest just outside my village. It was close to dusk and I was cold and hungry. I knew I needed meat and a fire. I saw a rabbit and pulled out my bow and an elvish arrow. I pulled the string and shot. The arrow hit the rabbit and pinned it to a tree. I realized it wasn't dead so I pulled out my dagger, walked up to the rabbit and killed it. I'd rather not go into any details about it because it was so gruesome to me because i'm only 12. I quickly skinned it the way my foster father showed me and stuck a long stick through it. I went through the forest gathering wood and leaves. I also got some rocks to set around the fire to keep embers from setting anything alight. I started the fire quickly and put the rabbit on. A rabbit was a pretty big meal for a 12 year-old so I wrapped some large leaves around it and put the rest in my pack. I found some more leaves and fairly large branches and set up a small bed. I slept like a baby.

The next morning I packed up my things and set off for a place called Cyrodiil. When I looked at my map I guessed I was about half-way through the forest. As soon as put my map away a pack of wolves attacked me. I was scared out of my mind but managed to pull my sword out. I swung at the closest wolf to me and the sword struck it right in the head. It immediately fell down dead. The other two wolves attacked me at the same time so I pulled my dagger too and stuck the dagger through one's eye and the sword down the other's throat. They both died and I felt like i'd die too...from exhaustion. I sheathed my sword and dagger and continued walking. After walking for what felt like an eternity I reached the edge of the forest and saw a sign that read "Cyrodiil Next Left". I started running and entered Cyrodiil.

You have captured the seemingly inexhaustible energy of youth with this character.  I agree with Eviltrain...you have added much more detail.  I am interested in reading about the perspective of an Argonian raised by Khajiit, lots of cultural mixing there...  more

Definitely more here and more detail. Much better effort on your part. Also your sentences have pretty good flow, good mix of long and short sentences. Story needs more detail but that's a skill that writers pick up from, well from reading and writing mor...  more
