  Morning arrived quicker than I’d expected.  River had fallen asleep where he sat but I didn’t bother sleeping.  I needed a plan on what to do.  The Companions are safe as long as I don’t return yet.  I need to get a message to them telling them the Hunters plans, at least then they will be one step a head.  I throw more logs on to what is left of the fire and go and check on Roar.

   

  In no time at all the three of us are eating round a roaring fire again.  Roar is now looking better and is up to date with the Hunters plans.  Still we have no idea where to travel to.  “I must get a message to my men.”  Roar says standing up and walking away from River and I.  “I suppose a courier could walk past if we find a path.”  River says looking doubt full.  “We don’t need a courier.”  I smile and watch Roar call a wolf over from no where.  River watches in amazement as Roar strokes and pats the wolf and sends the animal on its way.  Roar then returns to us.  “Well the message is done, what shall we do next?”  Roar sits and places his arm round my shoulders and kisses my cheek.  River says nothing.  “Shall we keep walking or wait for a message back?”  I ask.  “River.”  Roar says kindly.  “You have helped in so many ways, forget the past, tell me how we can now help you?  My men will handle the Hunters.  Name where you wish to go and we will make sure you get there.  Do you wish to return to the Hunters?”  “I was more their pet then their friend.”  River answers sadly.  We all sit still for a while thinking and then I remember.  “River did you ever make it to the Bards College?”  “No.”  River laughs.  Roar watches us both laugh together.  “Have I missed a joke here?”  He asks confused.  “It’s a long story.”  I say kicking snow on to the fire.  “But I’ll tell you on the way.”
