Here are the Site Hosts

  I am now in the process of setting things up for the Site Hosts. I'm giving out the necessary tools for the various Hosts to be able to do their jobs in their specific areas of the site.

  Before I announce who the Site Hosts will be, I need to say a couple of things.

  Firstly, I received FAR more applications than we had slots. Almost 50 people indicated their interest, when I only needed around a dozen or so. So there will be a few people disappointed...

  Frankly, you shouldn't be! There were quite a few excellent candidates who didn't make the cut, but I've kept all the details, and - should openings arise - then you will be in the box seat.

  Secondly, I'm not going to be answering questions from individuals about why they didn't get chosen. But I will say: some people didn't get picked because they weren't doing what they needed to be doing in terms of being active on site. For example, people aren't going to get picked as a forum host if they don't join in forum discussions! So if you want to be a Host in the future then the way forward isn't just asking to be a Host, its about getting involved, being friendly and helpful etc in your chosen area.

  Generally I've gone for people who are bit older and more mature - although there are a few younger people too. Also I've given out jobs to (I think) all the women who offered- my experience is that female site hosts tend to be more level headed and sensible than us blokes! If you don't believe that, compare the Girl Gamer Group to the Spoiler Group....

  Congratulations to the new Hosts. Join the special private hosts group 'The Elder Council' when you get an invite, as this is where I will explain the tools and buttons that you will very shortly be able to see in your specific content areas.

  Again, commiserations to the very many people who were unsuccessful people. There will be more opportunities soon for Hosts - including several new Groups that will be starting soon. So keep posting, keep being active... and your chance will arrive sooner than you think.
