Things seem to have settled down a bit after the chaos yesterday.
I've needed to remove a bit of content, and suspend one member who obviously thought that the posting guidelines didn't apply to him - but generally everyone seems to have got back to being friendly and helpful. Hopefully it will now stay that way...
The end result of the 'Spoilers or Not' controversy yesterday is that three former members have had to be suspended for either flagrantly ignoring the guidelines or being incredibly abusive about the guidelines. Two people have left of their own volition - calling me everything from a 'fascist' to a 'control freak' in the process
It does seem a bit odd that someone who actually was a control freak would deliberately change the site from being a one person blog (where I actually did control everything) to a social network (where I literally cannot). But anyway....
What was interesting was that as soon the non-spoiler guidelines had been set out, and that relayed across Twitter and Facebook, we suddenly had a significant upsurge in new registrations. In fact, over 50 people joined the site whilst I was sleeping during the night. I've just checked them and validated them whilst eating my breakfast! Welcome to you all!
We're building something pretty unique here on The Skyrim Blog. Everyone is welcome to share in that - but we won't be having total anarchy! People that think they can just do anything will have to learn that the hard way. For the majority that means a better, friendlier and more interesting site.
