This week the Showcase has been chosen by Mason, and he's gone for The Nightblade by No Snakes Alive. As No Snakes opines:
The Nightblade: because assassinating and raising the dead are both supremely awesome things in their own right, and combined they only serve to reenforce each other's strengths and eliminate one another's weaknesses. How is a Necromancer supposed to find all those corpses necessary to raise his zombie army? What is an Assassin to do with the trail of dead bodies he's left in his wake? Bingo!
And here's Mason blurb which explains why he selected this build for the Showcase
This is one of the groups classic builds that's recently had a well deserved revamp!
The first thing you should know about the Nightblade is that it's a no crafting build, allowing the player to dive straight into gameplay with little need to plan ahead. No Snakes take on the classic Nightblade archetype was to create an assassin that fully utilises the bodies stacked up during infiltrations with some entertaining necromancy! Definitely not your typical throat-slitter...
The build uses just five skills and Snakes has avoided the obvious skill choice of Illusion, keeping gameplay of the character more tactical and exciting, forcing the player to approach each altercation differently and use corpses to maximum effect. Opponents are left in confusion as their ranks mysteriously thin out only to be nightmarishly replaced with swarms of enemy undead...
One of the groups rarer ritual stone builds, the Nightblade uses the ability as a panic button to overcome impossible odds!
