Fort Greymoor, Joe's Dungeon Guide Part 13

  •  Dungeon: Fort Greymoor

     Set-Up:

    • Melee: Steel Battleaxe of Bitter Cold
    • Magic School: Conjuration
    • Ranged: Falmer Bow with Orcish Arrows
    • Armor: Amulet of Kynareth, Imperial Officer's Helmet, Silver Ruby Ring, Steel Armor, Steel Cuffed Boots, Steel Imperial Gauntlets
    • Companion: Lydia: Steel Armor Set, Steel Battleaxe

     First Thoughts:

    • This fort can be cleared out early or done so in the Civil War quest line, but either way, it is necessary for game progression.
    • Multiple levels of bandits occupy this area.
    • This "dungeon" is divided into three parts: Surrounding Area, Fort Greymoor(Interior), Fort Greymoor Prison.

Note1: From now on, I will only list new enchantments/item effects in "Set-Up" rather than restating    them every time.
Note2: If you would like to see my current "Set-Up" I will keep it updated here.
Note3: This "dungeon" does not contain a boss, but has an iron chest.

     Play-By-Play:

    • Arrows were flying by our heads the last time Faendal and I passed by Fort Greymoor, but this time I'm prepared.
    • Lydia and I slowly make our way up to the fort, but stop short and find cover behind a boulder.
    • I ready my bow.
    • It's early, a little before six, and the sun is just starting to peek over the horizon; I can just make out the silhouette of my targets.
    • I release my arrow and the bandit falls, but not as quietly as I had hoped.
    • I draw my axe and take out the first charging bandit.
    • Even the Thugs are no longer a match for my blade.
    • We continue on into the courtyard, the bandits have been killed and the only sound comes from the fires of the forge.
    • Lydia and I look around a bit and find a chest in one of the towers.
    • Moving further along the walls I find a trapdoor leading inside the fort.
    • We drop into a room with practice dummies lining the walls.
    • There is a pedistal on which a book has collected dust for what looks like years.
    • As I turn the last page I feel that I have a greater understanding as to why so many soldiers where lighter armors.
    • My eyes move around the room and are caught by an iron chest, but I think I'll leave the looting until after I've dispatched the bandits.
    • Just as I make that decision, one of the Thugs walks into the room and we lock eyes as I draw my weapon.
    • The sound of steel brings the others into the fight.
    • These fools crumble under the weight of mine and Lydia's axes.
    • In the "bedroom" I find the corpse of an imperial courier.
    • I loot the chest, and we make our way down the stairs.
    • Lydia and I find a door to the prison, but decide to come back to it later.
    • As we continue on we discover what looks like a torture chamber with the charred remains of a man inside a giant cage.
    • The next room contains two bandits and Agnis, the maid.
    • After we take care of the two, Lydia and I make our way down the stairs to find another exit through the sewer.
    • I continue on through a doorway, but managed to trip a beartrap.
    • Lydia and I take a moment to rest though I can't catch my breath; I hope it isn't Bone Break(-25 points of Stamina).
    • We continue on to find that this path makes a loop back to the "torture chamber."
    • I decide it's time to enter the prison.
    • I'm met with the voices of bandits and immediatly summon my atronach.
    • Both of them fall into smoking heaps.
    • The first cell contains an unfortunate hunter whom Lydia and I pay our respects.
    • We carefully move down the stairs leading out of the first room.
    • The corridor leads us to the prison's cell block, another bandit, and a small chest.
    • My arrow drops the bandit to her knees and I end another life with my axe.
    • It seems as though she was doing an experiment on a troll, but it's hard to tell.
    • With the fort cleared, Lydia and I take our leave.

The combat is a joke for me now after Dark Souls, and I feel bad saying that. I'm not putting ANY points into health with this character to counteract that.
I do plan on doing all of the dungeons, I hear there's around 110 or so?
