The Falmer

  •  The Falmer are essentially goblins. They aren't exactly as they are Elves but they fit the archetype perfectly. Their fall from grace and subsequent corruption by the Dwemer makes for a interesting backstory. Now they are a brutal, vicious and hostile race of deformed monsters who have large hordes underground. Besides surface raids though they don't pose an threat to Skyrim or Tamriel at large. How about someone changes that?

It is mentioned that the Thieves Guild destroyed a giant statue of the original Falmer form by stealing two jewels. That statue is rumored to have been able to restore the Falmer back to their original forms. So theoretically through magical means the Falmer can return from being ravenous beasts or at least a more dangerous form that can survive on the surface. What if a group of extremely powerful mages were searching for a way to use the Falmer as a weapon? (May already be happening but I have no idea.) If the Falmer with their hordes were to become stronger they would definitely pose a huge threat to Skyrim if not Tamriel. I don't want them to be just boring goblins. I would say massive hordes of Falmer led by "rejuvenated" and stronger half Falmer / Snow Elves pouring out of every dark hole in Skyrim would definitely be very interesting.

Maybe they will release a DLC that makes them into a more credible threat or in the coming months a mod is released. I don't think anyone has actually seen a Falmer at night on the surface but it wouldn't surprise. I know I haven't but in the lore it's said their raids have increased.

I like the idea but would it not clash if the player had done the thiefs guild and destroyed the statue?
