Judgement of a Slayers Son

"Why should we show remorse to an enemy that would not reciprocate that?"
-Allian
It didn't take long for them to dispatch the vampires, they had the element of surprise and Allian, Azaril and Ukawei had been doing this their whole lives.
As Allian drew his blade from the neck of the last vampire standing, Gnaeus slumped to the floor. "I'm sorry..." said Gnaeus with regret wrapped around his voice. Ukawei grabbed his arm and lifted him from the damp floor.
"Little one, what is the use biting yourself over something past." Ukawei said with a stern tone. "He is right" Azaril approached, sheathing his sword, "you need to see them as thing, a target, it isn't alive to you, all you know, is that it will kill you".
Allian didn't utter a word, instead he ushered Gnaeus along.
The foursome exited the cave and sat where they had earlier. It was early afternoon. Allian took Gnaeus away from the others.
"What happened?"
"I-I'm not sure, it was as if the world around me was travelling at three times the speed I was father"
"Killing, is a means to an end, for us. We kill to eat, we kill to live. We provide a service, whether he or she was once dunmer, breton, khajiit or whatever. They wreak havok and make peoples lives hell" Allians voice lowered slightly from the irritated tone he had took, "why should we show remorse to an enemy that would not reciprocate that"
"I understand..."
"You will not come with us for while not, not until you learn that death is around us always. Whether we inflict the fatal blow or recieve it. It will happen, it always happens. I have been around it my whole life, you can either live with this fact and accept it, or let it dictate to you how you act, how you feel and how you think. The world is the dangerous place, you do not need to help it."
The four arrived home as the sun was setting. As the cottage came into view they saw a rather scruffy looking man clutching a note, "for you sir, I'm under the impression it's urgent" the man seemed shifty and had a certain air of nervousness about him.
