GAME GUIDES

  • I am an avid member of the spoiler group. I have watched every video and read nearly all the posts, the spoilers are not exactly spoilers. They are just giving me some insight on what I get to look forward to on release night. As far as ruining the entire game, i will not be doing that!!! How you can purchase a rather expensive prima guide for this game blows my mind. Details and walkthroughs for every single thing in the game! Blasphemy I Say!!! Just would like to know if you guys and gals will be enjoying the mystery, adventure, and exploration of skyrim, or will you be spoon fed your adventure with a guide.

Well I think your opinion is a little skewed. I don't buy the guide to be spoonfed anything, I don't even open it until after my second or third playthrough. I like to know that if I think I missed something or didn't understand just why something worked ...  more

Sorry I slept in today, Played Battlefield 3 all night. Anyway good points everyone, I may have been radically one sided. It made for some good debate though. I plan on going onto this site as my guide if i ever do get stuck. I still think game guides are...  more

Keep us posted Sir Sweetness on not looking up anything, via USEP, or any other website. I find it very impressive that one could play the game without looking up some sort of "hint", cause that would be cheating and blasphemy. If it's a money issue you d...  more

The guide is cheating if you are going to use it to cheat, it is not cheating if you exercise some self control. So the weak minded and weak willed will use it to preview the whole game. And the strong will get more out of the game because they will have ...  more

I fully agree with David Steel. I posted something similar in The Guide in spoiler section.

I like the guides for "stat" reasons and the lore. The creature part of the guide is cool also. There's alot of stuff that I would miss i.e. special weapons, which ingrediants to make special potions, items, etc....  more

I am getting the guide, not to use it as a "walkthrough", but to help me understand the different weapons, armor, potions, and perks, etc.  Yes, if I really get stuck  and become totally frustrated with it, I will look to see what is the answer.  But for ...  more

I'm with Mike and David on this.  Early on, I use the guide to better understand stats, perks, skills, and items; avoiding the quest walk through sections until I have completed those on my own.  After self-completion of a quest I will sometimes go back a...  more

I'm getting the hardbound edition of the guide - I have a different viewpoint/use for it than you seem to have.  I usually don't go to the quests or maps portion unless I'm really stuck and have no idea what to do - I use it more to read up on backstory, ...  more
