Lun Bori ~Duel in the deep~

  • Her First duel; unfortunately, she thought,  was with something already dead.

Lun had never clashed with steel weapons before, she was not a good fighter by many standards, but she came to it naturally, as a new-born knows how to eat.

She was disarmed once and it was much nearer to her end then she would ever realize.

Lun dove to ground after her blade, it had been gripped in the pit of the dead mans axe, and thrown from her hands.

She landed and grabbed the sword holding it above her chest in time to absorb the blow from the axe above her. her body flat to the ground, she thrust the blade into the dead ones thigh, the width of the great blade completely severed the leg and the being fell to the ground. weighed down by its heavy armor, it could only manage to defend itself from one knee, and was immobile compared to her. Lun emerged to her feet breathlessly, took a step back to leverage the steel off the ground, and stepped into a massive swing of the blade, severing the head like the top of an onion.

She heard the ring of the sword as it cut the air, the sound her farther composed with while she was a child, darting through the pastures.

Alive and lonely for the sun, Lun decided there was no need to go deeper in to this crypt. She had tested herself in battle, and she felt the dishonor of abandoning the companions ease, only slightly, but noticably. And the terror she felt of their other forms diminished, she could swing her blade now in defense of her life, and that is enough.
