A Skyrim Tale - The Remaining - Chapter 7: One

  • Chapter Seven: One

(Explicit Chapter, Killing and Swearing a Such, rule of the blog, enjoy!)

Malachi Theod lossed half a dozen arrows in as much time, two found their marks and the others were either blocked by shields or missed. The remaining moved forward, whilst Malachi and Azeel moved backwards. Azeel thought he was facing the last few moments on Tamriel, but the Falmer had their own ideas. They flooded from the holes in the ceiling, the service doors to the throne room and the cracks in the floor.

Probably one thousand Falmer flooded towards the Argonian group and just slashed at them and stabbed them and ripped their bodies a part. Malachi and Azeel watched in horror as they blood bath consumed the Falmer, and eventually their wrath would be turned upon them.

A man came from behind them he grabbed Malachi’s arm and turned him, “RUN!”

He took off and Malachi followed. Azeel took off slowly, still unsure. “Our luck is so fucked!

They followed the man wearing blue and white robes streaming behind him, his face was covered by a deep cowell. He lead them down winding halls and through open rooms and workshops, past piles of dead bodies of dead Falmer and old, broken Dwemer machines. They seemed to go on forever before coming to an open cave that had sunlight streaming down from a hole in the roof. There were trees and plants growing all round, Azeel could hear birds singing and bees buzzing around. Flowers blossomed and gave the cave a beautiful look, an untouched and serene feel.

“AZEEL! Come along,” Malachi called to him.

Azeel shock of his daydream and jogged to catch up. The robbed man lead them to an old dwemer door and inserted the key and pushed the door open. The room as small, there was a fire was smoldering opposite the door and the top floor was laid out like a living space. A staircase occupied the left wall, it went downward to another room.

“So, who are you?” The man asked leaning on the edge of the table.

“Um,” Azeel started but Malachi raised his hand to stop him.

“We were traveling through The Rift and were captured by the Argonians. They lead us here, and Azeel’s brother,” Malachi motioned. “Is now their leader or god,”

The hooded man used his right arm to remove his hood and outer cloak. This is when Azeel noticed that the man had only one arm, his right. He tried to hold back but he couldn’t and blurted out: “How did you lose your arm?”

He was shot a look, and then sighed. “Everybody asks. I lost it as a child, saber cat got me mid-bicep and it was amputated. Cheaper, but left me crippled,”

Lifting his only arm, he began to use Restoration magic that might ease the pain and discomfort. “So tell me, why would you run deeper into the mountain?”

Malachi accepted the glass of wine he was pouring, “He just ran, away from that thing. No direction in particular, just away,”

“Oh, smart idea,” The man said sarcastically.

“Well, then. Why don’t you tell us your name and why you ran deeper into the mountain!” Azeel burst out.

Raising an eyebrow the man poured himself another glass of wine, “Well, that is a long story isn’t it? Originally I became obsessed with the Falmer, everything about them. Their lifestyle, culture everything and anything. I came down here, to study them but with only one arm. When they saw me, I could only run. I ran to here, this place. The Falmer don’t like it, too bright,”

He took a deep draught from his glass, “I’ve been living down here from almost a year. Also, my father called me Rodane,”

Rodane finished his glass, turning he said: “In the basement there are some beds, sleep. I’ll wake you tomorrow,”
