Chapter 2: Two Brothers - Part 3

  • Chapter Four: Two Brothers - Part 3

(Explicit Chapter, Killing and Swearing a Such, rule of the blog, enjoy!)

Azeel stretched his back out after a restless sleep the night before. He shouldered his rough sack after taking some old bread out, biting into it a chewing quickly following his brother back to the main road. The red Argonian, was adjusting the long sword on his belt as they retraced their steps. Both of them not really paying attention to their surroundings and they reach to main road. Utadeek stares down the road they traveled on their way to Cragslane Cavern and turning to his brother he says: ā€œThey didnā€™t follow us. We should be clear.ā€

Azeel walked facing the south, and the watchtowers as they headed northward. Ā Walking side by side, they talk. Talk about their first impressions of Skyrim, or their favorite place in Tamriel. They laughed and enjoyed the beautiful day, the sun not to hot and the clouds bringing much enjoyed shade and coolness to The Rift.

With the pair almost reaching their destination, they hear the talk to what seems to be two man outside the Cavern. Silently they approach, loosening his sword in his sheath he walks confidently into the clearing. The clearing is the size of a tavern, there were three cages with two of them holding a wolf each. There were also a pair of tents surrounding a fire, two of the men talked around a lunch time stew with a third throwing raw meat into one of the cages.

ā€œHEY! YOUR FUCKING LIZARD!ā€ Yelled the guard feeding the wolves.

The three men turned instantly, the guard stirring the meal drops to his knee and picks up a steel sword and the other walked back slowly and nocked an arrow on his recurve bow. Picking up a war axe and shield the handler raises his shield, ā€œOI! You there, what you want or Talos help me weā€™ll kill you!ā€

Azeel raised his hands, ā€œI mean you no harm. I was sent by the cooker, the Skooma maker down on the dock in Riften. I was sent to collect the moon sugar. He gave me a bag with the emblem.ā€

Azeel tossed the bag underhand and it landed a few feet from the speaker. Bending at the knees we layers to axe down and flips to bag emblem upward. He looks at the other two men and nodds. Azeel gives a sigh of relief but not before having an arrow fly straight as his chest and wedge itself between the steel circle on the center of his chest and leather padding behind it. Azeel feel on his back as the wind was knocked out of him, he could hear Utadeek charge from the brush.

Utadeek roared and bared his teeth as his long swords cleaved the axemen's leg in two, he ducked low underneath a poorly shot arrow and thrusted at the swordsmen. The unsuccessful jab, put him on track to use is momentum and plunge his sword to the hilt in the archerā€™s chest. Utadeek feel on the archer and his blade stuck in the dirt, without thinking rolls to his left as the swordsmen hacks downward at his back. Utadeek glances at his brother trying to stand and he pulls his knife from his boot. Holding the blade with the point facing away from his enemy to get better stabs in close engagement.

Utadeek knows he canā€™t parry any blow without injuring himself. Slowly circling the fire and pot, there was very little that Utadeek could do in the situation but the same was for the Nord across from him. The Nord kept shouting and making noise, the other guards inside would be able to hear the noise coming from outside. Utadeek was right, he usually loved being right but not now. Three men came running out, all armed with swords and shields and wearing identical mail armor with a black sash.

The Nord looked at his support coming down the winding path to the entrance, this was a fatal mistake. Utadeek lunged straight over the fire and shoved the blade deep into the neck of the Nord who let out a terrible scream. Taking a second Utadeek pulled his sword from the archer and readies for battle. The fight would be useless as a 3v1 would not end well in his favor. Azeel had unshouldered his shield and drawn his sword, the arrow had been pulled out from the armor. A bruising at worst.

Utadeek moved backwards to his brother. ā€œCall the plan.ā€

Azeel watched as the three guards fanned out to attack and advanced slowly.

ā€œNo, the only option is to run, run a-!ā€

An arrow flies from the trees and cut down a guard in the middle and another stick into the leg of a left side guard. Azeel doesnā€™t flinch and charges forward and stabs the uninjured man and pushes his blade through the neck of injured. All three guards lay dead on the dirt. Azeel raises his shield towards the trees where the arrows came from, ā€œSHOW YOURSELF!ā€

A man emerged from the clearing, the man from the market in Riften a few days earlier. The manā€™s hood was lowered and he had long gray hair falling to the base of his neck. He had a long scar coming from the bottom eyelid on his right eye, and the other eye has a beautiful deep green. His cloths were roughspun tunic and and linen wrapped around his feet. A quiver and a small back go from his right shoulder to his left hip and the bow was in his left hand.

ā€œSir, name and motive?ā€ Asked Utadeek.

The man stood at the same distance before shouldering his bow, he walked silently forward and slowly pulled the arrow from his victims. He turned his back as he cleaned the pair of arrows, ā€œWhatā€™s your business here?ā€

Azeel looked at his brother, still catching his breath. ā€œDeliver collection, but this wasnā€™t how it was supposed to go.ā€

The man turned and laughed, a deep laugh. ā€œPeople are sent out here all the time, used for the pits in the underground.ā€

ā€œThe underground fighting rings?ā€ Asked Utadeek. ā€œAren't those banned by the empire?ā€

ā€œYeah it was, but that doesnā€™t stop people. Look at the civil war in Skyrim right now, petty problem. I donā€™t believe in Talos and I support the Stormcloaks, religious freedom and all that but the Empire has better system and management. I donā€™t care much for politics, but Iā€™m saying I wouldnā€™t be surprised that when they banned the pits Cyrodiil itself revolted.ā€

Azeel gave his brother a look, ā€œWhy did you help us?ā€

ā€œA monkā€™s main goal is to help those in need.ā€

Utadeek coughed, ā€œWe need to ass-ā€

The rule is the rule. The rule says 24 hours, not 23, not the next day. The expectation is that all rules are followed exactly as they are stated, or the post/poster suffer the consequences of breaking the rules.
