Beta 0.02 Available with level increases

  • Version 0.02 of the picker is available.

    http://www.anuconsulting.com/skyrim/skyrimperkpicker.html

    Changes to this version:

    • Fixed conjuration bug pointed out by RuneRed (thanks)
    • Fixed some erroneous skills (I think - all of this is really speculation)
    • Added Race selection and level advancement to better simulate game (select "TURN OFF SIMULATOR" to just pick perks)

The level simulator is a little tedious right now - I'm working on making it easier to use. For now:

    • Click on skill to increase it by 1-point
    • Leveling works on my best guess based on web research. Below level 50, takes 10 increases to raise leve. Above 50, takes 50 increases to raise level.
    • When you raise a level, you get a new perk. Only perks that match your skill levels (and have previous required perks selected) will be shown.
    • Press "Reset Perks" to remove all selected perks but keep current level
    • Choose another Race to reset entire level system
    • Right now - midlevel increases don't refresh available perks. So if you increase a skill from 19 to 20 that makes a perk available, and you don't see it, press the "Refresh Available" button.

Thanks for the kind words on the first post.

To Marx Matthews - I'm an old-school programmer - made from scratch with help from Excel (to convert lists of perks into code) and visual studio 2010.

Noticed a couple typos.  "Twices" under archery.  "Midirection" under Pickpocketing.

Rune: I know the level system isn't right. I know the quote from Howard about a higher skill raise did more for your progress, but I'm wondering if that made the final cut. Like you said - there's not enough info to know exactly what's happening - so I st...  more

Nice. I am using this to plan out my first few characters. I am glad we are allowed to save perks. I don't think the leveling system is exactly correct, but there is not enough information on the subject to make a program change. Todd Howard stated (on de...  more

This is awesome!  I must have missed the initial version, but seriously, this is a fantastic tool.  Just clicking on it a few times already gave me the feeling that I used to have when playing Fallout 3 or New Vegas....the "oooh, here's the list of new pe...  more

Great work!  This is exactly the kind of thing we needed.
    Two requests for next version:
    1) display the numerical skill requirement for any perk in the pickable area.
    2) display perks in the pickable area for which the only missing requi...  more
