Gallas's Search for the Dwemer: Introduction and Chapter 1,2,3

  • Gallas's Search for the Dwemer

    Introduction

In the land of Skyrim there lived the young Breton named Gallas Lenil. An Imperial scholar by the name of Benat Janu taught Gallas many things including the Dwemer. Benat had several books on the ancient Dwemer and on the other races of Tamerial. All Gallas wanted was to explore and learn about the world he was born on.

    Chapter 1: Benat's Note

Then one day Benat disappeared. Gallas went into Benat's study hoping he could help on Benat's recent project. When he walked into the study he found nothing, just dust and open books. This confused him greatly, at the same time startling him. Benat usually never left his study without telling Gallas. As Gallas strolled quickly to Benat's desk he felt a presence.

The presence was strong to Gallas and it almost made him feint. Then Gallas was at Benat's desk where a scroll was being held down by a few old stones. The scroll was covered with drawings and ancient script from another language. Gallas was amazed because he knew what this script was. It was the Dwemer language which only a few people knew how to read it, Gallas and Benat included.

That was when he knew what had happened to Benat. Benat had gone to explore the crumpling ruins of the Dwemer cities in Skyrim. The scroll was written by Benat saying,

"Gallas as you know I have been studying some old scrolls. Well I think it is time to tell you about them. The scrolls are old Dwemer writings that I found in a ruin far to the North of here. I want you to take them and any other sources you will need that will help you understand the Dwemer. I wrote you this message in Dwemer script so none of my rivals can read them. On this scroll there are drawings. These drawings are maps and diagrams giving you important information which I will not discuss. Now go explore and discover the secrets of the ancient Dwemer."

    -Benat

    Chapter 2: Gallas's Leave

After Gallas read the note he knew what he had to do. He had to go and explore the Dwemer ruins in order to find the ancient lost Dwemer. To do this hey had to get packed and stock up on supplies.

Gallas gathered up all of the information he could find on the Dwemer from the study and packed it in his satchel. Then he went through the house and grabbed all the food he could find and stuffed it in his pack. Gallas then left the home he knew so well and traveled to the market place in Whiterun.

There Gallas bought many items for his adventure and research. He bought two small tents for sleeping, one big tent for his research and study, and the last thing he bought was a journal to record all of his data. Gallas needed a few guards to protect him and his work.

He hired two guards, Karjo a Khajiit mercenary and Danau a Dunmer veteran soldier. Then two other scholars joined Gallas and his party. Their names were Laylai a young Altmer and Gail-Shadow-Steps a tough Argonian.

Gail-Shadow-Steps was a scholar on the races of Tamerial and wanted to find any Dwemer items or possibly any Dwemer. It would lead to Gail-Shadow-Steps being very famous among the other scholars.

Laylai was a scholar in the art of magic and magical items. She wanted to find any of the Dwemer magical artifacts. Even though the Dwemer did not believe much in magic she thought that there would be some magical artifacts.

Gallas and his party left Whiterun soon after, heading towards a Dwemer ruin Northeast of Whiterun called Alftand. Everyone was excited and would not stop thinking about what they would find. All except Gallas, who could not stop thinking about Benat. He did not know if he was still alive or dead somewhere out in the wilderness.

The party traveled along the rolling hills and through Wayward Pass. Then they ended at Alftand. Outside of the ruins were some other scholars. Four in total, two were Redguards and the other two were a Nord and Dunmer.

Their three guards were killed by some bandits, sacrificing their lives for the young scholars. They needed protection but did not want to go back to a city so Gallas took them into his party.

The two Redguards were Rone and Seni, both being men. While the last two being men like the Redguards were Dula being the Nord and the Dunmer being Tayth. Rone was a master scholar in the way of smithing. He wanted to reconstruct the the Dwemer ruins and pieces. Seni knew many things that would help the group in the future and some of that knowledge was smithing like Rone but not as good, small amounts of magic, and other important knowledge. Dula was a master scholar in ancient fighting and he knew much about the art of it. Then the last of the scholars was Tayth who knew a lot of magic and used it to protect the innocent.

    Chapter 3: Alftand

Gallas's party, bigger than before, opened the entrance to Aftand and walked inside. There were pipes and valves along the walls and hanging down from the ceiling. Everyone was amazed by the sight and none of them talked, they just walked down the hall silently marveling at all the Dwemer engineering.

YorkistViking, did you change the release date on this blog post? We technically don't allow that.
Tell me, though, are you using this single blog post to update your story, rather than posting individual entries?
