The Duke's Folly (LRP Poem)

  • English:

    Duke’s Folly

Hearken, and hear told, the tale of a fool,

The Duke Grahant, on a misty Mondas night,

Drank too much Jagga, and started to drool.

    Now the Duke, this man,

Thought himself a magician, and tried to trick a Guard,

    With little rendition.

The Guard himself could not be fooled,

And tried to arrest the Duke.

Now this is where he makes his worst mistake,

The Duke, clearly not thinking right,

    Attacked the guard,

With nothing but a playing card.

    While the drunken brawl commenced,

The Duke realized his mistake and tried to surrender,

But alas, too late, the guards were furious, as was the Barkeep.

With the drunken, near sober Duke being held down,

Braum, the Barkeep, swung his axe mightily,

    Knocking the Duke unconscious.

    The Guard who was stabbed,

    With revenge in mind,

Kicked the poor Duke in the ribs,

Putting him out of his misery,

    Once and for all.

    This is a lesson,

To all the people who drink away the night,

    Drink in moderation,

    And only when wise.

    Dovahzul:

    Maljun Goltnu

Huzrah, ahrk hon fun, tey do mey,
