How into Role-Playing do you get?

  • The title says it all, how into the "Role Playing" aspect do you get in Elder Scroll games.  I find myself caught up in it and generally get pretty into it.  Do you sleep every night?  Do you make sure to eat food?  Do you wear normal clothing when not in combat or trounce around in massive armor even while sleeping.  In Skyrim will you make sure you are wearing weather appropriate clothing?  The possibilities are endless.

And I mean in game, do you have your character eat, sleep, change clothes etc in game.  I hope no one is forgetting to eat and drink in real life.

Konrad, that is BEYOND hardcore. You're playing Elder Scrolls like a roguelike? I might try my darnedest to RP, and do a fairly good job, but I'll hold up my hands and admit I will always savescum with the best of 'em. It's compulsive!

I tend to be completely immersed in all RPG games.
Fallout: NV, I drank and slept daily, visits to the bars to get my booze, acted like a complete tosser most of the time.
Oblivion: slept all day, slunk around the shadows stealing and murderin...  more

I try to role play, in Oblivion I added mods for eating, thirst, fatigue but not sleep.  I tried a couple and found them more annoying than helpful.  I do try to have my character sleep and change clothes when relaxing.

I'm with Sithis on this. I've always WANTED to go fully immersive, but never quite managed it short of maaaybe a couple short-lived games of Morrowind. I plan to do this with Skyrim however; I might not sleep EVERY night in-game and meals are bound to be ...  more

The sleeping every night and eating and drinking goes a bit far for me, but when I have to wait for something, I usually don't stand stationary waiting for a few days, but I search a tavern to sleep.
And when one of my characters goes into town, he ...  more

In oblivion I generally stayed away from armor and mostly wore civilian clothes. Ate often and slept as well.
