The Challenge of a Horse

  • It's been interesting seeing games take on the challenge of making a believable horse in their games. (Or Rider) And to me personally, I always felt Zelda Ocarina of Time hit it right on (So I guess Im pretty bias on what to expect haha).

    But I am hoping that from what little we've seen and trying the game when it comes out, that they got it. I must admit Im pretty strict about horses, I have some horses in real life and I ride a lot (I got quite the amount of stories to tell bout my crazy horse.), so you can see why Im a little worried.

    Anyways, to you, are horses much of a game changer? Or in other words, how do you view them in the game world, and their necessity.

    I must say I think it'd be nice to see something that brings more usefulness to the horse in the game (Saddle bags anyone, carry more items?).

    @Kevin

    I hear ya. Are you planning to use fast travel, though? I'm trying to follow through on a long-term vow to one day start a game and not fast travel anywhere. Ever. Believe me, for the first time I think I might become both grateful for...  more

    I like horses, I enjoy using (riding) them, but I wouldn't be too disappointed if they weren't in the game. I used horses in Oblivion, mainly because it was too boring to walk from point A to point B, but Skyrim looks to be the opposite, so I don't think ...  more

    I love the idea of horses, and they ought to be present in the Elder Scrolls. Nothing makes you feel like a badass hero quite like riding back into town, bloodied and loaded down with loot on the back of a mighty steed. They've never been that useful - or...  more

    I personally don't find the horses very useful in the elder scrolls. I'm not saying they should be removed or that I won't use them but I feel it takes away from the exploration of the world. You have carriage rides and fast travel if you need to move qui...  more
