Skyrim Story

  • I betrayed my usual detailed, serious type writing to make a sarcastic character. It seems everyone is writing a story or so, so I decided to just have fun and write one myself. I might decide to write a more serious one later.

    -----

My homeland of Skyrim is a rough place, when your not being stalked by some animal your being marked by bandits or tussled by the legion. But I don't quite blame them, with all the chaos lately, and the rebels.

I just don't involve myself in the trouble.

But thats where things went wrong, trouble found me!

My name? just call me Fin. Everyone else does.

I've done quite the bit of exploring since I left my family in Bruma, yeah not a 'native' Nord you might say. My family is quite large and so were split, my Uncle leads the few of us in Skyrim, my dad leads those in Bruma.

I was supposed to take after the guy but I had to see for myself the world, so when I found myself being led to my execution after being set up for something I didn't commit I was sure cussing at myself for not taking the old man's advice.

"Well, have anything to say?" spat a guard before the steps of the axeman's stage.

Truthfully, I had a lot to say, but I've always been a stubborn one so I kept my mouth shut and smiled.

I was punched in the gut for that but I didn't mind, ol'Jathor used to beat me as a kid when I played pranks I shouldn't have, so I was no longer phased by a fight.

I was quickly brought up the steps to see the grinning executioner, Lovely profession, definitely something to talk about after dinner. Bent down before the post and ready for the slice but that's when my life changed.. And my sarcastic self became serious.

A distant rumbling that made the ground shake had people chatting, I was hoping the axe wouldn't 'slip'. All of a sudden a roar broke the air and people dashed in every direction.

I closed my eyes, and when I opened them the courtyard was empty. I hurriedly stood up and ran down the steps and as I did I froze. Something had landed beside me and sent me flying. Turning on my back I stared up at something told to me as a kids story, Needless to say we both screamed.

I was about to be the towns sacrifice when an arrow struck the side of the dragons head and I had enough common sense to take off in another direction. The guard had regained their senses and I smelt the smoke in the air behind me as men screamed.

Crud, where to? Just my luck, first the axe, now dragon food. Could this day get any worse?

A man stopped before me and grabbed my arm. I couldn't see his face it was hid beneath a cape and mask. I tried to resist but its hard to when your hands are chained behind your back.

I was dragged behind finally some buildings, when we reached a window the man broke it and sent me flying in the room, the owner of the place probably fled to the castle.

I looked around, my eyes trying to see in the dark, finally I realized I was in a weapons shop. The man quickly pushed a table besides the window we had entered, then tossed the weapons he was gathering upon it.

A voice came from the outside and it made both of us freeze. "Bjorn?"

The made eased up and called back "Alfric.", a head popped before the window and I realized several more were with it!

    They were collecting the weapons,

Before I knew it the whole store had been cleaned out and we were on our way out  of town.

"What is your name?" asked one of them.

"Fin.." I answered. "Who are you?" I finally got up the courage to ask.

My mind already knew the answer but I was hoping it was wrong. "We are Stormcloak soldiers brother."

I take it I had just been enlisted into the rebel cause.

Now I knew how they filled their ranks, Debt and gratitude are a strong reason, but not to me. I knew I could've been out of there before they found me, but I didn't want to anger them either, so I unwillingly became a soldier of the rebellion - A cause I didn't agree with.

My family has always been fine with the Empire, reading the old scrolls and books of our past days, and how every year the whole population was practically killed off by wars. Im good with the constant order and peace given by the Empire.

"Where are we going?" I asked curiously, they had lumbered me upon the back of a horse and we dashed off, I was a little nervous cause my hands were tied still, They were taking no chances until I swore fealty it seems.

"You'll see." replied one with irritation, I can do that, I ask waayyy to many questions.

I sat there, crotch sore, for hours upon that horse. Not a fond memory I'll tell you.

We camped soon enough and of my eight companions, two took watch, I was given a blanket and decided to get some rest, if I tried to escape two expert marksmen would be making me into a quill.

Morning quickly came and with it several more hours of crotch pain. But soon enough I was blindfolded as well, we must be close I guessed.

These guys didn't chat much, sometimes I'd hear them singing softly to themselves an old song. Or even manage to say a word to someone!

My father taught me an old trick if I was ever in a situation where I was blindfolded, tilt your head up and look at the horizon line. Or where you estimate it is.

You won't always be able to look down but the horizon itself might provide enough light to see somethings which could help ya. I managed to make out mountainous terrain but that's it, yet the smell of pine was heavy in the air.

    I made note of that.

The air changed and smoke from cooking fires quickly had my mouth watering, I hadn't eaten much and the little bit of food I had before my escape, or should I say rescue? Anyways, it was not the most gripping you might say, certainly it had a rock like sensation but besides some broken teeth, all was well.

Men's voices began to filter, and my party finally stopped. I was dragged off the horse (And fell to the laughter of those around.) and the blindfold taken. First blindness then ... Blindness.

I finally could make out shapes and I realized I was in an encampment, at least a hundred scarred, tired and malnourished looking guys stood around. So the Legion was really kicking them about like it was said.

"You got the weapons.. Good, and I see you found another ...volunteer." A heavily armed man strode towards us from a tent in the center of the camp.

"Greetings Athun." It was Bjorn that answered for the others who were unpacking the weapons.

"Brother." they gripped forearms in greeting before Bjorn turned to me. I had been standing gawking at the scene, I quickly got control of myself and stood straight.

    "Who is he?" asked Athun.

"Call's himself Fin." replied Bjorn with a smirk.
