Crime fighters

  • My character returned to Riften when I heard the usual shouting and commotion. Another thief had been found and was running through the city, trying to evade the guards. As guildmaster, I felt that it was my responsibility to follow the guards, loot the thief’s corpse, and sell the stolen goods to our fence. Justice and gold prevails, everyone wins. Well, except for the homeowner. And the thief.

The thief seemed unable to decide whether to surrender or flee so he was trying both at the same time. After running around the market square and the forge, the thief bolted down the alley between the Black-Briar Meadery and the Bee and Barb. He never made it out of the alley, the guards cut him down in front of the Pawned Prawn.

But a curious thing happened before he died. As the guards were closing in, so was a chicken. After the thief was killed, the chicken turned around and walked back to my garden in Honeyside. She returned to walking around the garden with my other chicken, who was apparently less civic-minded and ignored the whole thing.

Bethesda thought they got rid of the vigilante poultry but one brave hen endures.

That thief is hilariously useless lol Ive seen him a number of times just running round the town square in riften taking about 90 odd arrows before being slaughtered lol He does have some nice kit he has nicked sometimes lol

Yeah, I was thinking about that problem but this might be a different glitch. As near as I can tell, at least one chicken seems to be pretty aggressive and will chase down any nearby hostiles. It produced an amusing story moment, though, so it was worth it.
